This is the study of the social, economic and environmental issues brought about by national and international conflicts in the 21 st Century. You will study the nature and causes of local conflicts (such as Housing developments), national conflicts (such as separatism) and international conflicts (such as the ongoing conflict in the Middle East). You will need a good awareness of modern day conflicts, developed through direct or indirect media sources. This unit also looks at the national and international challenges of poverty, security and racism. Practicalities – What do I need? What should I read?
