A1A (3rd Street) Drainage Improvements Upcoming Weekend Work February 2019 The Florida Department of Transportation will perform daytime work on the Kings Road bridge this Saturday, February 9 and Sunday, February 10 from 7:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m., weather and schedule permitting. This work will include sheet pile installation on the north side of the Kings Road Bridge. Residents might notice additional noise and truck traffic in the area. Crews may also be conducting vibration monitoring and structures settlement monitoring during that time. Be advised that workers may access your property or dock to perform monitoring. This is a precautionary measure as FDOT does not expect any structure settlement. A portion of Kings Road has been closed to facilitate this work and is expected to reopen in January 2020, weather and schedule permitting. The Kings Road Bridge is one of five bridges that will be replaced as part of the channel improvements. This project will improve insufficient drainage and alleviate flooding often seen during major weather events around some of the most flood prone areas of Jacksonville Beach, State Road A1A or 3 rd Street. Upcoming Weekend Work February 2019
