RULES & REGULATION

All submitted abstract will be peer reviewed blindly by an ad hoc Scientific Committee. The meeting is focused on evidence-based analysis. Thus, pertinent references must be reported both in the abstracts and in the eventual study presentation during the meeting.

Word count: 300 words in BACKGROUND, METHODS, RESULTS, DISCUSSION format. Tables & figures equal to 25 words each. Figure legends are included in the word count. Abstracts already presented and/or published elsewhere are accepted.

EVALUATION GRID:

In V-WIN foundation vision, evidence based facts and scientific merit are as important as the lack of political favouritism. For this reason, the scientific committee will fill in the below reported grid, delivering the detailed scores to all the abstract submitters. During the meeting, the detailed score of the winning abstract will be officially communicated to all the participants and posted online. It’s the hope of the meeting organization that, in this way, submitters are informed in advance regarding the evaluation system and that transparency is promoted.

*Abstract graded under 6 for study design & statistical analysis won’t be accepted.

BENEFITS & AWARDS:

Abstracts can be submitted by whoever author. Selected works will receive free registration for the presenter.The best works will receive a flight stipend and free registration to one of the next v-WIN foundation related events. If the abstract will be presented by a younger than 40 yo speaker, he/she will be eligible for a dedicated award (flight stipend and registration to attend the following v-HELP humanitarian and educational mission).

“YOUR LANGUAGE-YOUR POSTER” INITIATIVE:

v-WIN foundation Scientific Committee is made by top experts coming from all around the world. Submit your abstract in your language and v-WIN foundation tutors will be available for reviewing it and eventually accepting it as poster presentation. The best posters will receive free registration to one of the next v-WIN foundation related events.

*An over 40 yo author can still be the first author of the abstract while having a younger than 40 yo presenting the work, so making him/her eligible for the flight stipend/registration. In case the over 40 yo author is not having contacts with a younger than 40 yo colleague, vWIN foundation has a list of top quality younger than 40 yo talented speakers available to be twinned in the above mentioned work, so also favouring a tutor-mentor relationship among the over and younger than 40 yo colleagues.

The scientific committee will receive the abstract without authors and affiliation information. The selection process will be communicated on November 27th. The winner will be selected after the committee evaluation of the speaker performance during the meeting. In order to receive the award the winner must attend the final session of the v-WINter international inter-university meeting on January 30.
