TRANSCRIPT
Located on the Ayrshire coast, Glenapp Castle Hotel is at the heart of the highest concentration of world class golf courses anywhere on the planet.
ICONIC LINKS COURSES
The ‘Open Championship’ courses of Turnberry, Royal Troon and Prestwick are all within easy reach of the castle.
You can sense the history of these iconic links courses as you walk in the footsteps of the great names that have done battle in the ultimate test of golfing ability. The 45 mile coastal strip of links land along the Ayrshire coast also offers many more very highly regarded, if less famous venues, such as Western Gailes (a qualifying course for the Open), Fullarton and Dundonald Links, considered one of the best new courses of recent years.

YOUR IDEAL BASE FOR WORLD CLASS
GOLF IN SCOTLAND
The shortest hole in championship golf, at just 123 yards, has been the undoing of many top professionals. Tiger Woods, world number one at the time, famously faltered here with a six during his second round in 1997. Demanding anything from a sand wedge to a five iron, depending on the wind the Postage Stamp is a real test for any golfer.
ROYAL TROON THE POSTAGE STAMP
Test yourself with the ultimate golfing challenge and relax in the five red star comfort and splendour of Glenapp Castle.
• Choose two rounds of golf at any combination of Royal Troon, Prestwick, Turnberry, Western Gailes and Dundonald courses or your choice of other courses*.
• The team at Glenapp will organise every aspect of your Championship Links Challenge - we book tee times for your two rounds and provide transport from Glenapp Castle Hotel to and from the courses. You just turn up and play.
• Back at the hotel, enjoy three nights of luxury accommodation.
• Full Scottish breakfast is included, with a three course dinner in our award- winning restaurant on two nights and our six course tasting menu for dinner on the third night.
*We will provide a full personal quotation based on your preferred courses.
GLENAPP CHAMPIONSHIP
LINKS CHALLENGE
For a different and perhaps more relaxing type of challenge, you might want to experience a round or two of island golf.
The Isle of Arran, just a short boat trip across the Firth of Clyde, has seven courses to choose from. A mix of immaculately
maintained links and parkland settings include the beautiful Brodick Golf Club and Shiskine Golf Club, the only 12 hole
course in the country.
A DIFFERENT
GOLFING EXPERIENCE
Alternatively take the boat a little further around the tip of the Mull of Kintyre to the Machrihanish course. To quote Old Tom Morris in 1878 it was “specifically designed by the Almighty for playing golf”. Imagine yourself on the best first tee to be found with a drive across the beach to the fairway.
Even further afield, the small Isle of Gigha has its own nine hole course with stunning views out to sea.
Glenapp Island Challenge
• Choose two rounds of golf at any combination of courses on the Mull of Kintyre, Ayrshire coast or Arran courses*.
• The team at Glenapp will organise every aspect of your Island Challenge. We book your tee times for two rounds and organise transport.
• You will journey on the Glenapp Castle boat to your choice of island courses (transfers to and from the hotel boat are provided on a complimentary basis).
• Back at the hotel you get to enjoy three nights of luxury accommodation.
• Full Scottish breakfast is included, with a three course dinner in our award-winning restaurant on two nights and our six course tasting menu for dinner on the third night.
*We will provide a full personal quotation based on your preferred courses.
ISLAND CHALLENGE
You may want to combine a round at one of the famous championship links with a visit to one of the island courses or you may want to mix your golfing days with other activities.
At Glenapp we can offer you a whole range of alternative activities to complement your golfing excursions. Specially organised foraging trips in the surrounding woodland and seashore, fishing on the River Stinchar or out at sea, hiking and mountain biking, or exploring the west coast by boat to view the stunning wildlife and visit the island whisky distilleries.
Just let us know what you want to do and where you want to play. The Glenapp team will put together a completely bespoke itinerary for you or your group during your stay with us, taking into account your interests, preferences and golfing handicaps.
