Oops! The 2012 election season has come and gone. It was
long and arduous and finally disappointing. Republican
Women worked hard to elect Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan. It
seems it was not meant to be. I am sad. There is good news,
however. All Republican candidates in Montgomery County
were elected or re-elected. Several Republican candidates in
our surrounding counties were elected or re-elected to local
and national level offices. Texas remains a Red state. But our
work goes on. In two years time, Republican Women will be
working to help elect our local Republicans to of-
fice. Redistricting of local office boundaries is not yet settled
in the court and there may be some interesting decisions to
come down from the judge. We shall wait and see.
Our December meeting will be one of celebration of our ac-
complishments and for the coming season of Christ-
mas. NSRW has invited our local elected officials so that we
can honor them and thank them for their service. We will ac-
knowledge the work of several NSRW members who worked
so diligently during the 2012 election season as county GOP
headquarters volunteers, precinct workers, telephone callers,
poll workers and Election Central workers. All performed
their duties with good cheer, gained new skills and will proba-
bly be called again in 2014. Thank you, ladies!
A resident of Bentwater dropped by during our October
meeting and made a generous donation of $1000 to
NSRW. Charles Seligman is the generous donor and our
neighbor. THANK YOU, Mr. Seligman! NSRW is very
grateful for the confidence you have placed in NSRW.
Lastly, we thank the judges, Claudia Laird and Jennifer
Robin, for the very fine Election Watch event. The table deco-
rations were great. We had a good crowd to come but all were
disappointed as they watched the returns on TV. Also, we
thank the catering staff of Bentwater for their fine work. The
food was good and their part in table decorations added to the
party atmosphere. Thank you Bentwater and Thank you Clau-
dia and Jennifer! Y'all done good.
The December 2012 meeting will be my last meeting as
President. I have served in this position twice and I want to
say Thanks to all of you for the support you have given me. It
is and was a distinct privilege to serve you. From now on, I
will be sitting in the audience. One favor, please! Vote in
every election from now on. Vote Republican.

The Education Committee met in Austin November 9 to be-
gin crafting a policy statement. The current topics are Re-
store Local Control of Schools, restructure the STAAR Test
or use alternative tests that already exist, encourage Voca-
tional Education, implement classical education, remove per-
forming school districts from bureaucracy reporting, assure
that schools receiving voucher money are accountable, and
improving the school finance system.

Welcome Surprise
NSRW has received a very generous donation from a Bentwater resi-
dent. Charles R. Seligman popped in during the October NSRW meet-
ing and donated $1,000 to the organization. He said he hopes his dona-
tion will inspire others to contribute to the group.
NSRW appreciates the generosity of Mr. Seligman and his support
of the political work of the members and associates.
Thank you, Mr. Seligman!!!

We will also be entertained by a group of singers from Montgomery
High School. The Madrigals are under the direction of Heather Orr. This 26 member en-
semble dresses in Renaissance attire and performs and competes at several events and festi-
vals throughout Texas. The Montgomery Madrigals is a select ensemble chosen from the
Varsity Chorale and is the premiere performing arts ensemble at the high school. They are
most known for their Holiday Renaissance Madrigal Dinner which they present each De-
cember.

HELP!!! North Shore Republican Women organization is in need of a
Treasurer for 2013. Pam Benson cannot continue with the job
due to health reasons. If anyone has experience with account-
ing, a CPA, banking or a knack for
numbers and/or preparing reports, we
desperately need your help. I know it's
a very time consuming job and
so we're thinking maybe it should be a
Treasurer's Committee. If we can get a
couple of people that are willing to
accept this position, they can work in-
dependently on one task and then the Committee could meet
once a month to share the information they need from each
other.
Thanks for any help you can offer.

Message From TFRW President
November 7, 2012
We have awakened today to many disap-
pointing results, especially the national
election, but we have victories as well that
we must be proud of in this election cy-
cle! Thanks to each of you for every effort that was made
on behalf of Romney-Ryan as well as our statewide and
local candidates. You deserve great credit for all that you
accomplished. During this time, Jim McGrath of Houston
has provided much information that was placed on the
TFRW website about the Romney-Ryan campaign. He
sent a note about the "bold acts" made by TFRW to get the
country turned around and said that he would address that
more adequately at a later time.
We are a phenomenal group and I am proud of our organi-
zation and what we accomplished in these many
months. Continue to "Focus on the Outcome -Imagine
Our Impact" as we move forward with goals in mind and
work to be done. TFRW is always there to take on the
next challenge, and we will!
Best wishes,
Carolyn Hodges
TFRW President
Happy Thanksgiving!
