I am a seasoned Public Artist with extensive experience in public art design, planning, design teams and working with engineers and city staff. Most relevant in work scope to the Renewal District Project is the work I did with the City of Boise on the Boise WaterShed River Campus. I served as Lead Artist on the design team with city engineers, civil and water engineers, CMGC, landscape architects and sub-contractors. My primary role: create an aesthetic cohesiveness throughout the 3 acre campus, identify public art opportunities and sites for a pre-qualified artist pool, manage the nine selected artists and integrate those projects into the construction plans/documents, help manage the $3.1 million budget, make material selections for hard-scape, work with community members and stakeholders to integrate design directives. My unique combination of experience is well suited to successfully undertake the three tasks outlined in this RFQ. Identifying public art opportunities within the Urban Renewal District and creating a short report would be a welcome opportunity and a natural fit. Earlier this year I applied for the McCall Arts Plan, adding Bill Flood to my proposed team as an advisor. Bill, the selected planner has asked me to contribute - collaborate with him on the his Public Art Plan specifically in the task of site identification and opportunity development. If selected for the Urban Renewal project I envision a symbiotic crossover between the opportunities report and the Public Art Master Plan since the planning aspects go hand in hand. However, it is also clear that the Urban Renewal District is a separate microcosm opportunity with unique attributes that will be honored. I have a passion for site specificity and placemaking through my work. Integrating local history, environmental phenomenon, the natural beauty of McCall and stakeholder directives into the three public art design concepts for the Renewal District will bring placemaking to the front and center of design. Art is a connector of people, community, culture and a contributing factor to the foundation of a sustainable economic strategy. It is my goal to bring these criteria to the successful outcome of the three tasks outlined in the RFQ and contribute to the vibrancy of this area of downtown McCall for years to come. Additionally, my connection to McCall is rich and I can draw on the past 40 years of my history and experiences with this unique Idaho town. I look forward to hearing from you and welcome the chance to interview for this project. Thank you. Amy Westover

City of McCall Public Art for Urban Renewal District

Dear Selection Committee, It is with great enthusiasm that I submit my qualifications for the McCall Urban Renewal District Project.
