makes clear that this forgiveness applies even to those who have sinned sexually (Luke 7:39, 47-48). No work of the law, particularly not punishment of oneself or death inflicted upon someone else, is able or needed to save anyone (Galatians 2:16), for in Christ all have died to the law and been raised already (Galatians 2:19-21). Prayer: Almighty God and Father, put to death in us every self-righteous desire and bring us to life by faith and forgiveness. Amen. June 19 – Fifth Sunday after Pentecost – God does not settle for death, even when a person is possessed by a legion of demons (Luke 8:29-30) or the whole nation is rebellious (Isaiah 65:1-2). Out of the most hopeless situations He brings forth the highest life in His time and His way (Isaiah 65:9, Luke 8:35, 39). The incarnation, conception, gestation, and birth of His own Son (Galatians 4:4) demonstrates how He claims every human

life (Galatians 3:28-29) as His beloved child (Galatians 4:5-6). Prayer: Bid us to know You, O Lord God, as Father, and to call our neighbors to be Your children. Amen. June 26 – Sixth Sunday after Pentecost Contending for the Gospel in a culture of self-gratification can be lonely (1 Kings 19:10; Luke 9:53). Often our own sinful flesh supplies suggestions to ease the ache (Luke 9:54, 59-61), but these only ultimately intensify our misery (Galatians 5:19-21). Our Lord lovingly supplies encouragement in the family of faith (1 Kings 19:15-18), and Jesus not only accompanies us along the way (Luke 9:51, 57) but also assures our final arrival at His heavenly home. Prayer: Lord Jesus Christ, gladden our hearts with Your gracious promises, and grant us to share these words of life with those in need. Amen.

June 5 – Third Sunday after Pentecost – So precious to the Lord was St. Paul the Apostle that God “set [him] apart before [he] was born” (Galatians 1:15). The Gospel of Jesus Christ declares that every human being is just as special already in the mother’s womb. The Heavenly Father’s longing to hold each one is greater even than the love of a widow for her only son (1 Kings 17:18). He gave His Son to face death (Luke 7:12-14) so that no sin would be remembered lest any of his little ones be lost. Prayer: O Lord our God, by Your Son’s love fill us with devotion to You and compassion for the guilty and grieving. Amen. June 12 – Fourth Sunday after Pentecost – Sexual immorality deserves divine punishment (2 Samuel 12:14-15), especially because it harms so many more people than just the participants. However, “Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us” (Galatians 3:13). Jesus

delivers the reality of freedom from sin and death. (Galatians 3:23-4:7) June 26 - "Don't Touch That Dial!" Speaker Emeritus of The Lutheran Hour: Rev. Dr. Ken Klaus. In Christ, we find freedom from sin, but not freedom to sin. (Gal. 5:1)

June 5 - "Christ's Good News" Lutheran Hour Speaker: Rev. Dr. Gregory Seltz. What is the Gospel? It's the good news of God's forgiving love for us, in Jesus Christ. (Gal. 1:11-24) June 12 - "Not By Your Works" Lutheran Hour Speaker: Rev.

Lutheran Braille Workers exists to show the love of God to people with visual disabilities and to bring them into a growing relationship with God. They do this by engaging some 5,000 volunteers in over 150 Work Centers throughout the United States who joyfully produce approximately 250,000 volumes a year of Braille and specialized Large Print Bibles and Christian literature.

Lutheran Braille Workers is the largest Christian ministry in the world that provides Braille and specialized Large Print Bibles free of charge for the visually impaired. Thanks to the army of volunteers and thousands who financially support this ministry, Lutheran Braille Workers is able to place the Word of God into the hands of the blind and visually impaired at no expense to them.

At Chris the Redeemer, we are very proud to have our own Braille team. Under the leadership of Tressa Glaub, the Braille team is composed of the following volunteers: Everett Glaub, Sally Ackerman, Marge Farrier, John & Mary Holdman, Gina Brewerton, Beverly Larrabee, Carolyn Berkman, David Gazinski, Connie Baggesen, Barb Dixon, Tom Carpenter, Ottie Effertz and her friend Mimi. They work very hard at producing their portions of the bible and the one daily devotional in braille. Our team helps produce these bibles in 30 languages and so far mail them to 31+ countries. Every piece of material goes out to blind centers or individuals all over the world free of charge. And they are funded completely by donations. Here at CTR we make the books of Jeremiah and Lamentations in Spanish. (2 volumes), Exodus in English ( also in 2 volumes ), Galatians in Amharic, and a daily devotional called "A daily walk with God" also in English. So far this year our CTR team has produced 197 total books, which comes to 318 volumes. Some of the countries they mail to are: Canada, Colombia, Mexico, Costa Rica. India, Bangladesh, Ethiopia, Tanzania, Kenya, Malawi, Nigeria, Zimbabwe, Russia, Kazakhstan, and many others.

Sadly within a year they lost 3 of our loved and devoted members to death and one moved away. Although they are saddened by it, they are also encouraged to know they will be welcomed into heaven by some of the people that have come to Jesus through the Braille Ministry. Everybody is invited to come to the Braille Ministry. They love company and they can always use more help. They meet every Thursday morning from 9:00 to 12:00 noon, in the Fellowship hall. Your prayers and donations are always welcome.
