Family News: Our best wishes to Beatie Francis who celebrated her 80th birthday on Wednesday.

It is with sadness we hear news that Will Richmond, from Princes Risborough Methodist Church, has died following a long-standing illness. For many years Will served as a steward, a large part of which he was Senior Steward and Princes Risborough's representative on the Circuit Meeting, only resigning last year when he could no longer carry out his duties. He will be greatly missed amongst our church community. The funeral service for Will was held on Friday 26 January at Princes Risborough MC followed by a short service at Amersham Crematorium.

NEXT Saturday 3rd February - SOS: Winter Olympics. South Korea hosts the games this year, which gives us the theme for tonight. Skate over to the phone to call Frances & Nick Aylen on 398150.

Thanks to those who were able to help with the Christian Aid collection at Tring Road Tesco on Friday 19th January. The total collected was £247.12 – well worth doing! Thanks also to members of Weston Turville Church who filled a couple of slots.

AMC TABLE OF EVENTS: With lots of fundraising coming up over the next few years, it seemed a good idea to have a list of planned events displayed for you all to refer to. This will make it easier for groups to choose dates that don’t clash with, or aren’t too close to, others. Not all will be actually at AMC, but are those that a number of

the AMC folk might well be going to. If you decide to hold an event, please email Jennie Torpey on both addresses so she can update the Table. [[email protected] AND [email protected],uk]

Please note that this is NOT a booking process - bookings will need to done through Carla in the office first.

The Table of Events will be displayed on the notice board at the far end of the Hall by the Kitchen door.

USED STAMPS: The box for these is now tucked behind the coffee bar counter in the corner. The stamps go to raise funds for Christian Aid.

‘GOOD NEWS’ FROM AROUND THE CIRCUIT

STOKE MANDEVILLE

Dear All

This Sunday, 28 January, it is the turn of Stoke Mandeville to be the focus of our Circuit Prayers. Sunday worship is at 11.00am and you are sure of a warm welcome. Please support the fellowship there whenever you can, and remember them in your prayers this Sunday.

Pete Honeyball

At our Covenant Service on 14 January, we were joined by friends from the Parish Church, and also by the Forward-in-Faith group (who meet at our Church on Sunday afternoons). Total congregation was 40. Fortunately we had sufficient bread and communion wine. Refreshments were served after the service, with enough left over to fill 12 baskets (admittedly very small baskets!). The Lunch Club continues to be well attended on the first Friday each month (12 noon to 2 pm). On Friday 2 March, we will be joined again by friends from the Parish Church for the Women's World Day of Prayer. This Sunday, worship will be led by Rev Brian Tebbutt. Currently, several regular members of our congregation are unable to attend due to ill health; we remember them in our prayers.

Peter Vernon.
