    Larry helped his father farm until he was married to Janice Kay Bell on May 25, 1958. After he was married he worked in Des Moines, Iowa until the time he moved to California. He is an accountant for Morton Thiokol Dynachem Div. in Santa Ana, California.

    Larry and Kay are the parents of two daughters, Loree Kae and Vickie Ranee Schutz. Loree is a receptionist at Tony's Sea Landing and Vickie is attending college majoring in accounting and is working part-time for her mother, Kay, who has her own accounting business. Loree and Vickie gradu-ated from Foot Hill High School.

    THE ARTHUR SEARL FAMILY

    Arthur Searl and Sadie May Gilbert were mar-ried at Lorimor in 1906. Arthur passed away in 1915 and is buried at Lorimor.

    Sadie May was born the 25th of March in 1890 in Clark County. She was the daughter of Harris William and Ellen (Palmer) Gilbert. After Arthur's death, Sadie remarried Ernest Riley Nichols.

    The children of Arthur and Sadie were: I. Robert Milton Searl was born the 11th of

    January 1907 at Lorimor. He married Florence Mae Palmer the 18th of January 1928. They have 3 daughters and 1 son and they lost a little 2 year old daughter. They have 13 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Robertfassed away at Winterset on the 6th of December o 1981.

    2. Margaret Marie (Searl) Fisher, Mills, was born the 11th of September in 1911 at Barney, Iowa. She died the 5th of September of 1979 at Stockton, California and is buried at Farmington, California. They had no children. Her husband AI Mills died in 1972.

    ROBERT AND FLORENCE SEARL FAMILY

    Robert M. Searl was born II January 1907 in Barney, Iowa to Arthur and Sadie (Gilbert) Searl. He was their first child. He had a sister Margaret who was born II September 1911 and died in 1979. Robert died 6 December 1980. Robert spent his life farming.

    Florence M. Palmer was born J8 ·January 1908 to Jesse and Odess (Deeder) Palmer in Monango, N.D. Florence had an older sister Ethel who was born 2 October 1905 and died in 1907, a younger brother Dana who was born 29 May 1910, a younger sister Jessie who was born 16 September 1916, and another younger brother Raymond who was born I June 1920.

    Robert M. Searl and Florence M. Palmer were married 9 November 1928 at Newton, Iowa. Their home was blessed with five children.

    Betty was their first child. Born 31 January 1930. She married Mike Harper. They had three children. Micheal who married Mary Chase. They had two daughters, Micheal and Millisa.

    Linda was their second child. She married Frank Downs and they have two sons, Ben and Garrett.

    Marcia was their third child. She married Tim Beeler and they have a daughter Nissa.

    Roberta was Robert and Florence second child born 15 July 1931 and died 13 October 1933. 296

    Velda was the Searls' third child. She was born 30 March 1933 and married Alfred James. They had four children, Jerome, Susan, Sheila and Eddie.

    Evalene was the fourth child, born 29 May 1938. She married Lyle Hannah. They had three daugh-ters. Shelly married Tim Palmer and they have three children, Gregory, Geoffory, and Katherine. Cynthia was their second and Joy their third. She married Carl Petersen.

    David was their fifth child born 10 August 1943. He married Donna Betts Reed. She had 2 children Allen and Donita who David adopted. They had 2 daughters Robin and Monica.

    Robert and Florence have lived most of their lives in Iowa, but did live in Calif. for three years. There, their son was born. They moved to Truro, Ia. in 1968 and bought the Orin Stoneman property and is still home to Florence. Written by Granddaughter Rachel/ Palmer

    CLAIRE D. (DUTCH) AND LOIS SEIBERT

    Claire D. (Dutch) Seibert was born on a farm 319 I 1911 near Clearfield, Iowa. He was the third son of Walter and Dora (Darlington) Seibert. He graduated from Clearfield High School in 1929. He farmed in the Clearfield area. Dutch was always very interested in sports, with baseball being his favorite game as a player in his younger years and spectator in later years.

    On 6/1011938, he was married to Lois Florence Swan of Clearfield, Iowa. Lois was born 511511917, at Clearfield, and was the third daughter of Dr. C.J. and Nellie Swan. Lois also had two brothers. Lois taught school in the country schools in Ringgold County after graduating and before her marriage. In 1939 Lois and Dutch moved to the farmstead known as the "Queen Place" in Scott Township. They lived there until 1948 when they moved to a farm 7 miles west of Indianola. In 1956, the family moved back to a farm in South Township, south of St. Charles. In March, 1959 they moved to a farm north of St. Charles. They lived at this residence until their death.

    Dutch and Lois had three children. Mary Kath-leen was born 911911941. She graduated from St. Charles Consolidated School in 1959. She married Dale E. Beaman, Sr. from St. Charles, on 61151 1963. They have a son, Brent D., who was born 41911966, in Des Moines. Kathleen also has a step-son, Dale E. Beaman, Jr. who lives in Torring-ton, Wyoming. Kathleen works for Iowa Methodist Medical Center and Dale works for Ruan Transport in Des Moines.

    Walter James was born 12I30il944, at Winter-set. Walter graduated from Interstate 35 High School and went on to receive his M.S.W. from the University of Michigan in 1980. Walter was mar-ried 101611983 to Jill Ahrold of Minneapolis. Walter has a daughter, from a previous marriage, Andrea Heather, born II29II969, who lives in Laramie, Wyoming. Walter and Jill live in St. Paul, Minnesota.

    William Charles was born lllllll952 at Des Moines. Bill was graduated from Simpson College in 1976. Bill married Mary McGregor from Jeffer-son, Iowa on 91611980. They have a daughter Tiffany Claire, born 219 I 1982. They presently live in Sullivan, Illinois.

    C. D. Seibert was elected on the Democratic ticket to serve his first term in the 61 st General State House of Representatives in 1964, representing Madison-Adair Counties.

    Dutch and Lois were killed instantly in a car accident north of Norwalk, on December 30, 1965, and are buried in the cemetery at St. Charles. Their daughter, Kathleen, and friend Mrs. Richard (LaMarian) Howard were also in this accident and both received multiple serious injuries.

    Both Dutch and Lois were very active in church and many community affairs, such as Eastern Star, Masonic Lodge, Lion's Club, Farm Bureau and Madison County Extension Council. Dutch also served as a school board member and president. They were members of the St. Charles Methodist Church. Submitted by M. Kathleen Beaman

    HELEN ELOUISE YOUNG SELLERS

    Helen Elouise Young was born Oct. 12, 1939 in Mystic, Iowa. She is the fourth child of William John Young (born 15 Oct 1905 - died 27 Aug 1982) and Clementine Juliette Pirotte (born 11 July 1905 -died 3·Sep 1976). She has three older sisters; Jacquetta Marie Young Browns, Marjorie Loretta Young Pyner and Sally Ann Young Gibson. She received her education in the Mystic Public Schools, graduating third in her class in 1957. She was a member of the band, chorus, sextet, trio, mixed quartet, basketball and softball teams.

    She married Phillip L. Sellers, April 19, 1959. They have one son, John MichaeL

    Mrs. Sellers is associated in business with her husband working as an oil artist and print finisher. She is the Assis\ant Director of the Winterset Public Library, beginning work at the library in Septem-ber, 1972.

    Helen is a member of the Madison Co. Hospital Aux., the Madison County Ambulance Aux. and the Madison County Genealogy Society.

    Paternal Grandparents: Wilfred E. Young-Edna Eikleberry, William J. Young-Margaret Ellen Gregory, Earl (Bill) Eikelberry-Ciarissa J. Peck-ham. Maternal Grandparents: Desire Pirotte-Clementine Charlier, Emile Pirotte-Marie Dumont, Dieudonne Charlier-Josephine Demoulin.

    William J ., Clementine J ., Desire and Clemen-tine are buried in the Highland cemetery in Mystic, Iowa. Wilfred, Edna and Clarissa J. are buried in the Elgin cemetery north of Mystic, Iowa. William J., Margaret and Earl are buried in the Centerville, Iowa cemetery. Emile, Marie, Dieudonne and Jose-phine are all in France.

    PHILLIP LEE SELLERS

    Phillip Lee Sellers was born February 17, 1936 in Centerville, Iowa .

    Phillip, Helen and John Sellers

    He is the son of Charles C. Sellers (born 3 Oct. 1900 - died 7 Dec 1966) and Lelah Faye Rutledge (born 4 July 1900 - died II Dec 1983). He grew up in Mystic, Iowa and graduated from Mystic High School in 1954. He served with the U.S. Army in South Korea from 1959-1961. He was honorably discharged. He married Helen Elouise Young April 19, 1959. They moved to Winterset, Iowa in Decem-ber 1961. They own and operate Sellers' Studio, a Profession-al Portrait Studio. Mr. Sellers was one of the first photographers in the U.S.A. to earn the title Certi-fied Professional Photographer. This degree is earned by proof of knowledge and ability in photog-raphy, and is presented by the Professional Photog-raphers of America, Inc. Mr. Sellers is a member of the Professional Photographers of America and the Professional Photographs of Iowa.

    Mr. and Mrs. Sellers have one son, John Michael (born 25 Aug 1967) . He will be a senior at Winterset High School next fall. He is active in basketball and baseball, and was student champion in racquetball when he was 15.

    CLAIRE D. SEIBERT

    MR. SPEAKER: Your committee, appointed to prepare a suitable resolution commemorating the life, character and public service of the late Honorable Claire D. Seibert, begs leave to submit the following memorial:

    Claire D. Seibert was born March 9, 1911 on a farm near Clearfield, Iowa, the son of Walter and Dora Darlington Seibert. He graduated from Clearfield High School in 1929. On June 10, 1938 he married Lois Swan of Clearfield. To this union were born one daughter, Kathleen, and two sons, Walter J. and William C . ..

    Mr. Seibert moved to St. Charles, Iowa and farmed continuously there, with the exception of seven years spent in Warren County. He owned and operated a 240-acre stock and grain farm in Madison County at the time of his death.

    He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Eastern Star, Lion's Club and Farm Bureau. He was a member of the St. Charles Methodist Church, having served as chairman of the Official Board and in other capacities. He was a former school board member, on the Madison County Extension Council and the Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Committee.

    Mr. Seibert, a Democrat, was serving his first term in the Sixty-first General Assembly House of Representatives from Madison-Adair Counties.

    Mr. Seibert was killed December 30, 1965 in an automobile accident that also took the life of his wife, Mrs. Lois Seibert. Surviving are their daughter, Mrs. Dale Beaman, two sons, Walter J. Seibert and William C. Seibert, two grandsons, all of St. Charles, and Mr. Seibert's mother, Mrs. Dora Seibert of Winterset.

    THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE SIXTY-SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF IOWA: That in the passing of the Honorable Claire D. Seibert, the state has lost an honored citizen and a faithful and useful public servant, and the House by this resolution would express its appreciation of his service, and tender its sympathy to the members of his family.

    BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That a copy of this resolution be spread upon the Journal of the House and that the Chief Clerk be directed to forward an enrolled copy to the family of the deceased.
