BRITTNI’S FORIST & GIFTS. Local officials gathered for a ribbon cutting for Brittni’s Florist & Gifts on February 3, 2016. Owner Brittni Sparks reported that “we are a full service florist, interior design, furniture painting and refinishing, and offer unique gifts and home decor that you won’t find anywhere else. We are here to serve the community with great selection, low prices, and service with a smile.”

WILD FLOWERS FLORIST. Local officials gathered for a ribbon cutting for Wild Flowers Florist on February 8, 2016. Owner Missy Brandon reported that “we offer balloons, floral and candy arrangements, pot-ted plants, live flowers, pottery, home decor, and those special gifts for special people. We are pleased to be able to exclusively offer specialty jewelry by local artists.”

We still have a lot of work to do, but just about everyone in Tishomingo County has family or friends working at one of the companies that have been recruit-ed to, or has expanded in, Tishomingo County. Most businesses have custom-ers that get their paychecks from these companies, or sell products or services to these companies. Everyone benefits directly or indirectly from economic de-velopment, including the school system that receives significant new tax revenue from economic development projects.

WELDING CLASSES. The Tishomingo County Career and Technical Center will be offering night classes for welding during the fall se-mester. The class will be one night a week for ten weeks. Classes will begin at 6:00 PM on Tuesdays. The cost of the class is $50. This will include registration and supplies. CONTRACT FABRICATORS. Contract Fabricators has completed work on a petroleum refinery vessel. The vessel is a 42 foot diam-eter regenerator with 16 stainless steel cyclones. SBA offers a Small Loan Program of up to $150,000 thru local banks. SBA guarantees 85% of the loan and there is no guaranty fee or mainte-nance fees. Underwriting and ap-proval are streamlined.
