COVID Protocols - updated 8-19-2020
Screening and Mitigation:
● Staff and students will have temperatures checked daily at school (1)
● During Level 1, 2, and 3 staff and students will wear a mask at all times.
Exposure (2) to COVID or presumed COVID
● Individual must remain at home until 14 days after the exposure
● Individual (Staff and Students) should self-monitor for symptoms
○ Check temperatures daily (3)
○ Watch for fever over 100 degrees, cough, shortness of breath, difficulty breathing, fever or chills, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion, runny nose, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, or other symptoms of COVID
○ Contact your doctor/healthcare provider for guidance on what to do next
○ Follow your doctor/healthcare provider for guidance
○ Notify the building principal immediately of your concerns
● If no symptoms after 14 days, individual may return to school
When an individual exhibits symptoms at school
● Student must be immediately separated from others; staff must be immediately relieved of duties and sent home
● District will designate an isolation room/area for students who exhibit symptoms to wait for parent/guardian transport
○ Area should be separate from clinic/other areas students are likely to visit (4)
○ Area should be supervised by school personnel maintaining social distance and
wearing PPE
○ If symptoms intensify before parent/guardian transport, district may arrange for
emergency medical transport.
● District will establish a transportation protocol for situation where parent/guardian has no transportation
● Close off and thoroughly sanitize any areas of the building occupied by individual exhibiting symptoms

When can an individual return after COVID illness?
● Individual may return to school after all of the following has occurred:
○ They are free of fever for ten (10) days
○ At least 10 days have passed since symptoms have ended (5)
○ Have written documentation from the Fairfield County Health Department stating that the individual has been released from isolation/quarantine.
OR
● If testing is readily available, individual with a COVID test but no symptoms may return to school after the following has occurred:
○ 10 days have passed since positive test and no symptoms
** School officials will inform staff and families of students who have had close contact with a
diagnosed COVID individual (while maintaining confidentiality consistent with applicable state
and federal law) to stay home and self-monitor symptoms.

740-969-7250 Back to school details: Remote/Virtual Open Houses/Orientations will be established We will begin the first week with a staggered start. This will allow us to have a smaller group to teach and go over the day in regard to protocols, expectations, rules, etc.
Grades 1, 3, 5, 7, 9 and 11 will go to school on August 24 and 25 Grades 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 and 12 will go to school on August 26 and 27 All students will report on August 28, 2020.
All students will have their temperature taken daily. All students must wear a mask on the bus at all times. During Level 1, 2, and 3, staff and students will need to wear a mask. School will be dismissed daily at 1:15 for grades 6-12. 6–12 students will be required to complete one online elective. School will be dismissed daily at 2:30 for grades 3–5. School will be dismissed daily at 2:45 for grades Kindergarten–2. The 1.5 hours of early release serves multiple purposes:
● Less time with a mask ● Allows us to disinfect our buses for the second route. ● Allows our teachers to work with our online students at the end of each day. ● Allows us to utilize Google Classroom, which results in us having our teachers deliver
our curriculum to our students. ● This allows students and teachers a better opportunity for transition if and when a student
returns to our brick and mortar classrooms. All scheduled Late Arrivals are removed from the calendar. School Meals
● Breakfast will be Grab-and-Go Style. ● Hot Lunch will be pre-plated in individual disposable/to go containers, disposable
utensils, and individual condiments will be provided to the students and staff. ● To reduce handling of money, online payments are recommended via
www.myschoolbucks.com or weekly payments to cafeteria are encouraged. ● Option 2 students will have access to school meals. Contact the Cafeteria Supervisor to
