The concept of 3D motion picture is not new

3D was first introduced back during the turn of the 20th Century (J.Perenson, 2010)

But with the releases of current 3D movies, such Avatar and Alice in Wonderland, 3D is back and soon will be invading homes everywhere.

Last year alone 17 3D films were released in theaters (J.Perenson, 2010)

Every manufacturer has revealed its 3D plans for 2010 (J.Perenson, 2010)

Which will also bring 3D-enabled Blu-Ray players in right around the same time

For filmmakers, a 3D camera will arrive in the fall (J.Perenson, 2010)

In June, ESPN launched 85 sporting events in 3D (ESPN, 2010)

And Sony is partnering with Discovery and Imax to have a 3D channel by 2011 (Lieberman, 2010)

The race is on to get new 3D TVs into stores -- and homes. Panasonic has already released there first model of 3D Television Bob Perry, Panasonic senior vice president.

◦ “Our belief is that the American consumer has experienced 3D and thinks it is pretty cool," and "There is a great opportunity

to create a different (3D) experience in homes and in theaters (Snider, 2010) .”
