Started as a trading company in 1969 to import

stainless steel, today the professional team at Chandan

has truly come a long way. Incorporated in 1985 the

team at Chandan has more than 4 decades of

experience in the production and marketing of stainless

steel. Under the leadership of its Chairman,

Mr. C.G. Chandan and the vision of his sons Dilip and

Vijay, they continue to revolutionize the stainless steel

sector in India, with every passing day.

A SPINE OF STEEL The glimmer of excellence

Spread over a vast area of 130,000 sq. mtrs, is our prestigious plant at Umbergaon. A town in South Gujarat,

which is just a 2 hour drive from the Mumbai International Airport. Efficiently equipped with 8 MW captive power

plants, the plant generates its own electricity making it completely functional & operational, 24 X 7 and thus

saving considerable revenue.

We can easily conclude that our plant at Umbergaon with its state-of the art equipment and steadfast

infrastructure is one of the most productive plants in the country.

Success is a process

Every process and function carried out at our plant is perfected with skill and dedication, and a burning

desire to exceed perfection:

Our 11-tonne induction furnace with a 15-tonne Argon Oxygen Decarburization vessel with

microprocessor based gas-mixing station with ladle refining facilities and a 6/11 meter radius double

continuous castor, enables us to produce 120-200mm billets with our electro magnetic stirrer. Our 8MW

captive power and gas plant makes us a completely integrated Plant.

Our four Automatic and Semi-automatic hot rolling mills enable us to manufacture products

ranging from Rolled Billets, Hot rolled round bars, Square bars, Hexagonal bars, Angles to Flat bars,

Structural Shapes like Channels, Unequal Angles, Beams and much more.

We have two 12 point temperature controlled bogie hearth Solution Annealing furnaces of 8

ton & 12 ton each for long products, one 30 Strand Annealing Furnace for wire products and Batch type

solution Annealing Furnace for Wire Rod / Coil with Hydraullic Charging & Discharging Arrangement.

Safety is one of our top priorities here. Safety of the employees, safety of our equipment, safety of

the plant and of course safety of the products.

Our employees working at the plant are our main resource and as such have been

specially trained to combat situation that might compromise the well being of the plant. The

company constantly employs the expertise of safety engineers / managers. The staff is updated

about safety procedures every three to six months and incentives are provided for each department

to encourage safety.

The storing, packaging and moving of all our products are carried out in a systematic,

tried, tested and trusted method. All the products are organized based on predetermined

guidelines and every specific product type has its own protocol for packing and storing

The plant is very well planned and very well equipped to combat, almost any situation that

might threaten its security and safety. We have a security team, supported by a network of CCTV

cameras, and alarm systems which constantly monitor the premises.

are running short on the very resources that we have become so dependant on. In a sincere attempt

to restore the balance, Chandan Steel has taken many steps to ensure that they do all they can to

be an eco-friendly body. In numerous ways Chandan Steel has set the benchmark for what a

company can do for the environment and nature.

- Emit 100% filtered air into the atmosphere and most modern effluent treatment plant to treat the

waste acids

- Set up 4 windmills which contribute to the 45% of the plant's power

- Holds constant meeting to further evolve environmentally safe, aim to go completely “Green” in

the coming years
