THE WILD GAME FEAST
S ome of the recipes were wilder than the game that
went into them, and there was nothing tame about
the turnout, either. Some may try, but it'll be difficult to
refute the published claim that the DeLand Breakfast
Rotary Club's recent Wild Game Feast was "The
outdoor event of Volusia County" and "the DeLand
community's major fund-raiser of the year."
About 800 diners paid to sample Hoof burger and
Chicken Lube, along with tamer dishes on a menu that
featured venison curry and blackened gator tail. Beyond
breaking the previous attendance record and compiling
a record-breaking gate was the fact that this year's
crowd impressively surpassed the meat eating standard
set by last year's turnout .....
Our compliments go to the DeLand Breakfast Rotary
for staging what obviously has become one of West
Volusia's outstanding fund-raisers, an event that just
keeps growing!

T wenty-seven years ago, members of the DeLand
Breakfast Rotary Club decided to host an annual
fundraiser. They wanted to do something new and
different to make their event stand out. The purpose
of the event would be to raise money to distribute
to nonprofit organizations serving the West Volusia
community and a unique event would best serve that
purpose. After considerable thought and debate, the
Annual Wild Game Feast was born.
On May 3, 2018, the members of the DeLand
Breakfast Rotary Club will host the 27th Annual Wild
Game Feast. Over the years, this event has grown
into one of the largest annual fundraisers in our area;
hosting more than 1,000 for an evening of wild game
and camaraderie. We have raised and distributed $1.75
million dollars. Our past and future success is based
on one thing: YOU.
We hope to be able to count on your support this
year. With your help, we will make this year’s event
the best one yet. Please consider sponsoring the Wild
Game Feast.
BIGGER, WILDER AND MORE DELICIOUS!
