When asked if there's anything in partic- ular that she learnt that heads to be firm and make ways everytime, Alaya shares, `I think the most important thing that I learned from them was just that if you re- ally, really want to do something, nothing is impossible. Like, if you just work hard enough and put in the hours and put in the effort and just do everything over and over and over again until you get the outcome you want, like everything is possible. And, you know, they really put in a lot of hours and a lot of effort into me. And I put in a lot of hours and a lot of effort into them and classes and, you know, all of that. Anna Faris will not be returning to the series for its up- coming eighth season, leaving Alli- son Janney as the sole lead. The move is surprising. Both Faris and Janney are in the middle of two-year contracts they signed in spring 2019 after lengthy negotia- tions. Their new deals secured a two-year renewal for the Chuck Lorre comedy through Season 8. I hear Faris' exit was finalized early into the show's hiatus, and the writers have been writing the new season without her character, Christy. Her absence will be ad- dressed in the upcoming season, which is slated to start production September 14 in Los Angeles. `The past seven years on Mom have been some of the most fulfilling and rewarding of my career,` Far- ris said. `I'm so thankful to Chuck, the writers, and my amazing cast- mates for creating a truly wonder- ful work experience. While my jour- ney as Christy has come to an end, allowing me to pursue new oppor- tunities, I'll be watching next season and rooting for my TV family.` Mom is produced by Chuck Lorre Productions in association with Warner Bros Television. It was cre- ated by Lorre, Eddie Gorodetsky and Gemma Baker, who wrote the pilot script on spec. It landed at CBS with a pilot order in December 2012.
