PREFACE All human beings are winners by birth. We fight our way out to emerge humans. The creator endows us with the sixth sense that is missing in other creatures. Some of us make it to the top while other watch aimlessly and envy those who have made it. Our brain power is the same. We have the same number of neurons as others, if that be the case why do we find beggars or failures in line. The reason is – some people think they can do it, some swear they can’t. Mohammed Ali the great boxing legend was always a winner as he had two things which a winner needs. One is he always said ‘i am the greatest, second he told his enemies they would lose.’ Thomas Alva Edison said ‘I have not failed, ‘it is just an attempt.’ Swami Vivekananda says ‘man is the maker of his destiny.’ Great men believed and proved to tell us that we too ought to do something, or else what is the use of life? Let us realize our true potential, tap it appropriately, choose the right things for us and do well in life, when we do we are not only fulfilling the creators wish of seeing a good world, but we also will be helping several people directly and indirectly in life.

THE CORPORATE WORLD The Corporate world today is not the same as it was several years ago. Western culture has set into the Indian mindset and hence the requirement of corporates are to International standards and hence management students must gear themselves to not only reach such standards but they must also be very quick as the race is among person who are all wanting to be winners and under such circumstances one must really be strong and determined to emerge as a winner.

PATHFINDING-BS* Management Students who get out of college are seldom trained to face challenges of life. The demands of Corporates are very high. Several students who do their MBA take up errand jobs rather than playing a large role in the management sector. The fact of the matter is that many students feel that they cannot make it. JADE We take this opportunity to introduce ourselves as JADE TRAINING RESOURCES based at Bangalore with Principal Office at Michigan, USA and centres at Chennai, Coimbatore, Cochin, Hyderabad, Pondicherry, Bombay, Calcutta and Delhi. We began our operations way back in 1995 with a mission to bring about a transformation in people. AT JADE WE BELIEVE IN TRAINING PARTICIPANTS WITH PLEASURE RATHER THAN PUT THEM UNDER PRESSURE.

WHY YEARWISE? No fruit or vegetable taste the same. Same is the case with Training too. That is why we have different programmes for various categories of people. We cannot use the same yardstick for students of Management with that of the others. A student who enters college in the first year is not geared to take up a job. Hence he/she requires certain basics of college life and several soft skills. In the following year he/she requires a little advanced training, it goes deeper and deeper till he/she is geared up to take up a job. That is why we have selected various topics for different years.

WORKSHOP? We call our Training ‘Workshop’ for a simple reason. That is because we make the participants ‘to do’ rather than ‘we doing’ and they seeing it. We do not believe in explaining to a person how to swim, we swim and show them how to do. We coach them. The complete workshop is multi-dimensional. The entire session is participation-centred and brings out the best from them through our methodology ‘Learning by Doing.’

JADE’S RECORD JADE in the past has a record of training several students and have polished them. We have prepared them to become job-worthy and instilled in them several qualities to conduct themselves in life. Today several thousand students have been moulded and polished by JADE. All of them will have one thing to say ‘I have been trained by JADE and I am a proud JADIAN.’

JADE FOLLOW-UP-OGP We do not believe in a one-time affair in training or for that matter a hit-and-run policy. We believe Training is an on-going process that needs to be done at frequent intervals. We keep in touch with the participants even after they get out of College. They interact with us and not only get information and latest trends, but they also give us inputs and also help in placing freshers. Where Training is concerned, we believe it must be a complete process and not just a fly-by-night operation where only the basics are taught. We believe in laying a strong foundation thereby ending up as a huge monument. At JADE we do not use the same yard stick for all those whom we train, we believe in giving different

things to different people.

MENTORING We, at JADE just don’t believe in Training alone. Any individual or Organisation can execute Training with a little bit of bookish knowledge. We believe in going one step ahead by mentoring a student whom we actually adopt during the time of his/her tenure in College and ensure that ‘he/she is prepared for life.’ We do not believe in executing mere lectures that go to deaf ears, nor do we implement training just for the sake of doing something which is run-of-the-mill type just to earn some money or fulfil a formality. We believe in empowering a student with whole-heartedness rather than give him/her temporary solace. We believe in giving lifelong solutions.

OUR PHILOSOPHY Our Philosophy is ‘teaching a person to catch fish.’ We do not believe in pampering a person or giving him/her ready-to-eat type of stuff where they will not know how to manage themselves when we are not there to give them support. We will gear up students so that they will learn how to stand on their own feet later in life.

COOT METHOD We will adopt the COOT method wherein a person will be put to a comprehensive procedure. This procedure is as good as pure gold when it goes through the toughest method to become pure. No individual is a ‘gone-case’ as people term him. We will pick up a student, speak to him/her and bring out the best talent and ensure that they also perform like the others. This will be done after we apply the COOT method. We will begin with: Counseling – this is a phase where a student will get to know his/her Strengths & Weakness. Open – a person who will come to us with a clogged mind, with mental blocks and barriers will be opened up. He will be free to talk, discuss and speak openly. Opportunity – ample opportunities will be given to the students to speak, come on stage, participate in sessions and also ask questions. Training – this is the final phase where a student will be exposed to structured training.

At JADE we adopt the policy of nurturing people rather than just telling them what is to be done. It is just like planting a sapling, watering it and nurturing it and ensuring that it becomes a tree.

A self managed person can manage a group, a company, a nation depending on the level of conditioning he/she acquires. At the end of this session, students will be transformed into self managed people who can manage anything. Some of the visible changes you can feel after this module are:

2. Personal Effectiveness Every human being is effective at times and shows signs of ineffectiveness at times. After attending this workshop a participant is likely to dig deep into his personal effective zone. 3. Decision Making Mastering the art of decision making is a continuous journey. A 360 degree understanding about the system (internal) and the surrounding (external) is a must for a genuine decision making. After this module, the students will be able to decide their future course of actions without any hesitation and dilemma. 4. Change Management ‘Change’ is the one process which is always permanent. The whole world is always changing in terms of culture and technology. Just look at the rapid changes that are brought by the introduction of Computers, internet and mobile phones in the recent past. Those who resist changes are the losers of the game. Had we not accepted change in our global policies, we as a country would not have grown this much.

At JADE we have designed a module with topics that are not covered in the college, we have incorporated topics of relevance.

WE BELIEVE MANAGEMENT STUDENTS CANNOT BE MEASURED IN THE SAME YARD-STICK AS OTHERS. THAT IS

BECAUSE THEY HAVE DIFFERENT TASKS TO PERFORM AFTER THEY PASS OUT OF COLLEGE.

Change Management is a structured approach to transitioning individuals, teams, and organizations from a current state to a desired future state. The current definition of Change Management includes both organizational change management processes and individual change management models, which together are used to manage the people side of change. 5. CEO Mentality Doing Right things is Leadership. Doing things right is Management. To be a successful CEO, one has to be tough and tenacious, willing to take risk and able to engage the wisdom of all around him/her. For a CEO, the world itself must become too small to conquer i.e. the thinking must be global and it must get locally implemented. (Global thinking and local acting) At the end of this module, the thinking horizon of the students will get widened and they will emerge as budding CEOs. 6. Presentation Skills A person will learn the art of effectively giving a presentation. He/she will be trained to hold the interest of the audience and invite questions in the most professional manner. 7. Common sense approach to Management Common sense is the most uncommon among the most of us. The reason is: we don’t focus at the right point to get clarity about an issue/problem/constraint. At the end of this module, students will know whether a given problem is due to a wrong policy or lack of resource or lack of knowledge. They will be able to identify, exploit and elevate the system level constraints. Their approach to problem solving will be based on common sense and not based on gut feeling or past data.

WORKSHOP BLEND No one will like anything that is monotonous. Same is the case with our workshop. We have a variety of activities to offer in our workshop. Indeed the sessions are a blend of ancient wisdom and modern techniques which serves as a balancer in our presentation. All our applications are need-based and is applied in the right time and to the right people. At JADE we feel there are people with different mindsets and hence we have ancient wisdom and

OUTCOME 1. Corporate Communication Any person can communicate. But when it comes to Corporate communication, a person needs to know many things beyond the regular type of communication. Corporate communication involves communication such as communicating with equals, seniors and subordinates. They will also know how to communicate positively effectively and communicate without hurting others feelings. 2. Leadership Leadership qualities will be embedded in participants so that they become leaders and not mute spectators or dictators. As a management executive he/she must and should know about leadership which is one of the essential factors in Management. 3. Management – Time, Man, Crisis, Finance, Stress After attending this workshop a person will learn the art of management. Where time management is concerned, he/she will be in a better position to manage time. He/she will also know ways and means to face a crisis. He/she will also learn to manage finances. He/she will be in a position to fight stress busters. 4. 5. Setting Standards / Examples A management Executive must set standards for the others to follow. The others will always look upon the leader for rules, guidelines and advice. Hence he/she must be geared to set standards not only for himself/herself but for the others too. He/she must actually be a living example for which he/she will be trained in this aspect. 6. Synergy A person who attends this programme must be in a position to take with him/her everybody without any bias or reservations. Hence he/she will be trained to follow a path where he/she will involve everyone. He/she in fact will be trained well to take with him/her the ones who he/she feels are less motivated and bring them to the mainstream to derive best results from them. A technique will be taught to the Management Executive wherein he/she will bring the best from an employee/worker. 7. Goals-SWOT-Focus-Foresight Goal setting will be taught to the participants where they will set various goals not only for themselves but when they lead teams, they will also help the others in setting goals. They will also carry out a SWOT analysis on themselves and find out their strengths and weaknesses. After this process is over, they will begin to implement this theory to the others. The last thing is they will do foresight for themselves when it comes to official as well as personal affairs. They will also be in a position to do the same for the company in which they will work.

This Workshop will be spread over a period of Time and will not continuous. The Gap in between has been provided to facilitate participants to do their homework and prepare their assignment. This gap has been kept keeping in mind the availability of time for the other Academic Schedules.

NUMBER OF PARTICIPANTS In order to ensure that every participant gets personal attention, we prefer a restricted number (not more than 50 in a batch) so that the facilitators can give individual attention to all participants. This is one way of opening them up. The evaluation of the same is done immediately and some of it through the Video CDs that we provide each participant.

NUMBER OF WORKSHOPS JADE can conduct upto four Workshops at a time and not exceeding that to ensure professional competence. However, we recommend only three slots to ensure that proper evaluation is done.
