As per data from a microclimate station in the everglades, wet prarie Hensen MarshIn 2009, the site had 36.61 inches of rainfall and ET was 41 inches, ~ ET/Precip is 112%
If this was understimated by 22.34%, the water budget would be inaccurate by over 7 inches.
For a small watershed, surface water runoff can be 15%, an error of this scale can create gross inaccurate water budgets.
Can lead to extended drought, poor infrastructure deployments, or not enough water for industrial operations.
