Dear Faithful and Committed Alumni and Friends of Bluefield College:

Thank you for your sacrificial support to Bluefield College and for your belief in the College’s mission of transforming the hearts and minds of our students. You contributed to the College in excess of $2 million for only the third time in its history. I cannot adequately express the profound gratitude that I and the entire campus community have for the investment you continue to make in the College and our students’ lives.

Many of you went above your normal giving to assist in the launch of two new programs – nursing and football. Your gifts provided the resources needed to hire Dr. Carolyn Lewis as our director of nursing, who will guide the start of our Rural Healthcare Program, a program that will focus on the educational needs of RNs who are seeking to complete a bachelor’s degree in nursing within the communities in which they live and work. You also enabled us to hire Coach Mike Gravier as our head football coach and supported his recruitment of 65 new student athletes this fall.

As you read the following pages of this annual report, I hope you take pride in knowing what you have helped enable through your gifts, prayers and encouragement. The heartbeat of our mission beats strong as we seek to transform students’ lives by integrating liberal arts with career-oriented studies and service to God and the global community. Our outcomes are clear: we are committed to graduating students who think critically, communicate effectively, and adapt readily to a changing world.

We have a story to tell, not only in this annual report, but in and throughout Virginia and around the world. Help us share this wonderful story of what God is doing here at Bluefield College through the dedicated lives of our faculty and staff and the never-ending nurturing and teaching of our students.
