My dear Brothers and Sisters,
Let me begin this message by the words we all know well “there is no place like Home”. I would like to inform you that I am safe and sound back at St. Mark the Evangelist.
At the beginning of Lent, as most of you are aware, I went to Poland to participate in the General Chapter of the Pauline Order at the Shrine of Our Lady of Czestochowa as a delegate of the American Province of the Pauline Order. Fr. Arnold Chrapkowski has been elected as the General Superior of the Order of St. Paul the First Hermit for a second six-year term. It is also my great pleasure to inform you that one of the members of the General Council of Pauline Order is Brother Bernard Kluczkowski, whom we all remember from St. Mark the Evangelist. He served in our parish community a few years ago. Let us keep Him and the new General Council in our prayers.
After the General Chapter of Pauline Order and due to the Coronavirus crisis and my international travel, after my arriving to the USA, I had to self-quarantine and isolate myself for 14 days. I was thinking of you and praying for all of you during the celebration of the Eucharist and in my daily rosary. I also pray and also ask you to make, as your intention, that soon we can be together again in the celebration of the Eucharist at St. Mark the Evangelist.
Brothers and Sisters, I would like to take the opportunity to convey my sincere gratitude and thanks to Fr. Dominik Libiszewski, Tina Hajducko – our Operations manager and our office staff as they adapt the temporary changes in our parish for our safety and protection from COVID 19. These steps have been deemed necessary, given
the best information we have received from the Diocese of Orlando, federal, state, and local public health authorities. Although we know how difficult it is for us to be without the Mass and without the Eucharist, I humbly ask you to do your part to help through your faith as we continue the journey this Lent season by praying for those with the Coronavirus, those who care for them, and those who are suffering from anxiety during this stressful time.
My dear parishioners, with our office staff, we thank you so much for making an effort to send in your regular Offertory envelopes during this time that we are closed. I am appealing for your continued support of our parish ministries through your faithful giving. The parish relies on the weekly offertory collection to pay for operating expenses, maintenance, utilities, as well as, the salaries for our parish staff. Please consider your financial support through the mail or online giving. We have set up a link on our parish website and our Facebook page.
Thank you to all who have responded so generously to the 2020 Our Catholic Appeal. Our OCA 2020 parish goal is $ $293,838.38. So far, 52.5% of our generous parishioners have pledged $235.285.53. If you have not yet made your contribution, please do so.
Thank you very much, and please be assured of our prayers for you and those you love. Through the intercession of our Our Lady of Czestochowa, let us pray for God’s mercy and protection. In these difficult times, let us put our trust in God.
In Christ,
Fr. Rafal Kandora

Isaiah 50:4-7 | Philippians 2:6-11 | Matthew 26:14-27:66 Today’s gospel is too long for the space of this bulletin. It can be found online at http://www.usccb.org/bible/readings/040520.cfm
1. Christ prepared for the Passover (Last Supper) to honor His Father in Heaven and to prepare himself for what was to come. How are you preparing yourself?
2. Christ took the bread and He took the cup; His Body and Blood for us. Have you fully received Him through the Eucharist? Do you live the Eucharist?
3. Christ prayed in the garden, but His disciples fell asleep. Are you always awake?
4. Christ was betrayed by Judas. How many times have we betrayed Christ without us knowing it through our words, actions, and lack of action?
5. Christ was arrested and judged. How do you judge? How are you judged?
6. Peter denied Christ three times. Have you also denied Him at times – again without knowing? (But Peter also
stated that he loved Christ three times.)
7. Christ carried His cross to His death. Are you willing to take up a cross and carry it to your death here on earth?
8. In the Passion of Our Lord it is written, “He saved others; He cannot save himself. So He is the king of Israel!” Christ went to the cross for the FORGIVENESS of our sins, Christ died on the cross for our SALVATION, and Christ rose from His death on the cross to bring us to EVERLASTING LIFE.

The food pantry is accepting donations but they cannot be left here at St. Mark. There are no pickups at this time.
As you know, decisions are being made minute-by-minute and the process to get food into the food pantry could change without notice. Please check the website for updates on how you can help. A link is provided on the main page.
