Congratulations to all players and

coaches who had a win on Sun-

day against Mount Clear. It was a

tough round for our footy teams,

however our netballers were ex-

tremely successful in only losing 2

matches out of the 8 for the day.

Well done to all.

We hope all our mums had a won-

derful Mother’s Day and enjoyed

receiving your flowers following

your child’s game.

We have our only social event

coming up next month and hope

that as many of you are able to

attend as possible. It’s sure to be a

brilliant and fun evening. Last

year’s trivia night was enjoyed by

all and talked about for days. The

theme is Op Shop Formal and we

also have a live band playing later

in the eve-

MAGPIES COME TO DARLEY

Last Thursday night we were lucky enough to have two Colling-

wood players take our Devils training sessions for both our girls

football teams and netball teams.

Ash Barzil who plays both netball and female footy took training

for the under 13 and Youth Girls football and Matilda Garrett

who played her first game of netball two weeks ago for the

Magpies, took training for the Under 11’s, Under 13’s and Under

15’s at different intervals throughout the evening. All players

were able to get photos with these talented players and have

merchandise signed. Following on from the training sessions, all

players enjoyed a hot dog in the clubrooms.

We hope you all enjoyed the sessions and gained some new

skills from Ash and Matilda.

Congratulations also goes to Eliza Tango on her selection in the U15 Ballarat

Netball Interleague squad for 2018. Eliza is our only netballer playing inter-

league this year. She plays her first netball match for the interleague squad

next weekend. Good luck Eliza. We are proud of you.

The following Devils footy girls were selected to try out for the AFL Goldfields

U/18 & U/15 Interleague side. Congratulations to you all.

The Training squad will consist of approximately 50 girls who have been nomi-

nated from their respective clubs across the AFL Goldfields female football

league and following try outs happening soon, the final squad of 24 girls will

be selected to represent AFL Goldfields against both representative sides. We

will keep you updated on their results. Good luck girls.

We’d also like to say well done to Dale Murley who was selected to coach

the under 12 interleague squad. No doubt the kids will learn lots from you and

have fun too!

We have amazing, talented players in our junior club and congratulations to

each of you who made their respective squads. We are extremely proud of

you. Good luck for the season.

Darley vs Eynesbury

Match Summary: Our Darley under nines played great footy against

Eynesbury.

With the opposition showing great spirit by evening

up playing numbers, the game flowed nicely and our

Devils did us proud.

Archer Andrews led as captain this time, and his

troops followed instructions well all night. Guest for-

ward line coach Cohan Edwards actually had our 7

and 8 year olds structuring up perfectly to create

good space and opportunity!

On a windy night, we managed some great goals,

switched the play well and tackled with great enthu-

siasm. Then we sang the song without having to read

the words.
