Welcome to our Annual Bull Sale! This year we have some added attractions with an

offering of 20 you-pick-’em heifers and guest consignorsWest Fork Red Angus and Harr Ranch.

These bulls were all fed together right here on theUBAR ranch. They were fed a high roughage ration ofalfalfa/grass hay, silage and whole cracked corn. As a group, they averaged 2.9 lbs. per day gain. the heifers were on asimilar ration with only a little corn.

The Lot 1 bull, UBAR High Capacity 5520, was the BullCalf Champion and the Reserve Grand Champion Bull inDenver at the 100th Annual National Western Stock Show.Lot 6 was second in the April class, only behind UBAR HighCapacity 5520. There was alot of interest in these bulls inDenver and we could have sold them there. However, allbulls will only be sold in our annual sale!

We have good calf prices, and we need to continue toraise the best beef cattle in the world! It is very important thatwe stay in the number one position so our exports continueand the demand for U.S. Beef stays strong as cattle numbersincrease.

A special thanks to everyone for coming and supportingthe UBAR Ranch program. I hope to continue to be a serviceto you.

Thank you,

UBAR RanchMurray, Deanna and family

UBAR RanchMurray Dighans

(406) 893-4401, home(406) 939-3531, cell

Welcome to the Second Annual UBAR Ranch Bull Auction.

This year’s added attraction is 20 U-Pick-Em open yearling heifers where the buyer gets choice and the other goes home to the UBARpastures..

In the beginning, Murray Dighans made the decision to start and developa Red Angus program on his UBAR Ranch in the middle of nowhere(Peerless) Montona. His neighbors and even family questioned why hewould try to raise and sell RED cattle. Now I have known Murray longenough to know that he is a fairly focused and determined sort of individual.I have never seen him waiver on any decision or direction that he has sethis mind to and I am sure that the skepticism of going red in black countryprobably inspired him to succeed even more. To make a long story short, putting Red Angus cattle on the UBAR Ranch was a very progressive andsuccessful decision. In 2002-2003, the UBAR Ranch exhibited a set ofcattle that caught the attention of every Red Angus breeder in NorthAmerica with UBAR Grand Prix 102 — the Grand Champion Bull at theNWSS in Denver and the National Grand Champion Bull at the Fort WorthStock Show in 2003. On the way to Fort Worth, Murray sold 10 syndicatedinterests in Grand Prix and at Fort Worth he sold an interest to Brazil withfull possession and in a separate transaction, Canadian semen rights toBylor Semen Sales. The bull went on to be crowned the Brazilan NationalGrand Champion Bull that same year. But the legacy didn’t stop there, In2005, a Grand Prix Pen of Three heifers were crowned Grand Champion atthe NWSS for Frey Angus of North Dakota. This year in January 2006, theUBAR Ranch again made a dominating presence with their UBAR HighCapacity 224 sons and daughters including the Reserve Grand ChampionBull selling as Lot #1 in this auction and 3 daughters selling in the NWSSMile High Red Angus Classic Auction sold for $11,000; $9,500 and $9,500..Not bad for a Red Angus herd started on a small time ranch in the middle ofblack cattle country in the middle of nowhere Montana.

UBAR HIGH CAPACITY 5520Bull

UBAR High Capacity 5520 The 2006 National Western Stock Show in Denver was a super event for Red Angus breeders across the continent. None howeverdominated or caught as many cowboys attention as the UBAR Ranch with their ‘05 UBAR High Capacity 224 calves. This bull calf was barely 10 months oldwhen he was crowned Bull Calf Champion and then Reserve Grand Champion Red Angus Bull at the 100th Anniversary of the NWSS and his paternal sisters

were the Grand Champion Pen of Three Heifers in the Yards. These “224” calves were not only show winners but winners in the sale ring as well. In the NWSSMile High Classic Red Angus Auction, one heifer sold to Sonstegard Cattle, Double RL Red Angus and Kemen Farms all of Minnesota for $14,000; a second

sold to JDRed Angus of Mina, South Dakota for $9,500 and a third to Bradbury Land &Cattle of Byers, Colorado for $9,500. 5520’s negative BW combined withan 834# WW, WR 110 make him a very interesting bull even without the extreme presence, style and correctness that he possesses. Everyone is looking for --the next great young bull that is ready to conquer the breed . . . . UBAR High Capacity 5520 just may be him Cock the hammer and get ready to buy him March
