CUT MODEL: Camia ARTIST: Takashi 1. Section out a panel on the top from the right front hairline to the back left crown and clip away. Section out the remaining top hair to the parietal ridge in a teardrop shape on the top of the head. 2. On the left side, begin cutting the hair over the ear using vertical diagonal forward sections. Using a razor, cut each section from top to bottom maintaining even tension. Continue this technique to the front hairline. 3. Move to behind the ear and part the hair using diagonal back sections along the hairline. Using the razor, cut the hair from the top of each section to the bottom with slight graduation; this will allow a soft skirt at the hairline. Continue across the back using slightly diagonal back sections, holding each section out and using the previously cut section as the guide until you reach center back. Cut one section past the center. 4. Repeat on the opposite side using the same cutting technique until you reach the opposite side. Cross check and blend as necessary. 5. Release the top panel, leaving the center clipped away. Beginning on the side with less hair, start in the crown using diagonal forward sections pivoting around the crown. Over-direct each section to the previous one, keeping your finger angle parallel to the section. 6. Repeat on the other side. The guide becomes more stationary as you work your way to the front hairline. Place the razor blade flat to create a softer line. 7. Blow-dry the hair using flat wrap and leafing techniques. Use scissors in a stroking technique to blend and create softness at the hairline. Take horizontal sections parallel to the parietal ridge and over-direct each section to the stationary guide on the right side. 8. Use a high elevation scissor over comb technique over the ear. Hold the ear back and refine as desired. Lightly point cut on the surface to create softness. Blend in the top using a “no thumb” technique (a graduated chipping technique on the interior to remove weight). Point cut the lengths in the crown, moving from the mid-shaft to the ends. Continue across the top. Point cut the skirt at the hairline. Slice out the front panel to create direction and shape while removing weight. A NEW PAUL MITCHELL ® COLLECTION

Blend in the top using a “no thumb” technique (a graduated chipping

technique on the interior to remove weight). Point cut the lengths in the crown, moving from the mid-shaft to the ends. Continue across the top. Point cut the skirt at the hairline. Slice out the front panel to create direction and shape while removing weight.

COLOR

MODEL: CamiaARTIST: Heather Kaanoi 1. Section out the long hair on the

top panel.

2. Start in the back and apply formula 1 base to ends in vertical sections to the underneath hair. A tail comb will help you divide the hair as you apply the color. Apply a foil over the color application at the crown to create a platform for the top panel.

3. Apply formula 1 to the base and then formula 2 to the mid-shaft and the ends. Turn your color brush vertically to help blend the two formulas. Continue with this technique until you reach the front hairline. For complete saturation, use the bristles of the color brush as a comb on the mid-shaft and ends.

4. Once the color is applied, apply a clear visor or piece of foil at the front hairline. In the front right corner, slice out a section and overlay onto the foil/platform. Apply a band of formula 3 at the top of the platform, one inch from the hairline and directly on the colored hair. Cover with a narrow piece of foil. Continue this technique on each section until you complete the top panel.

5. Process the color XG formulas for 45 minutes. Rinse when the SynchroLift bands are processed to the desired lightness.

6. Shampoo with Color Protect Post Color Shampoo and condition with Color Protect Daily Conditioner or Color Protect Reconstructive Treatment if needed.

STYLE

Take random sections on the long lengths of hair. Insert a large hairpin at the base and figure eight the lengths of hair to the ends through the hairpin. Fasten the pin ends with an elastic. Lightly spray Extra-Body Finishing Spray and gently tap the iron on the figure eight. Allow to cool. Remove the pin and separate the texture.
