State Doctors Day Celebration at Erode.

All over our State Doctors Day being celebrated enthusiastically by our members. This year IMA TNSB Doctors Day is at Erode on 24th July. I am extremely happy to inform that our Governor His Excellence Dr.K.Rosaiah has been kindly consented to be our Chief Guest. Our National President Dr.A.Marthanda Pillai is the Guest of Honour. I request you to attended this function in large numbers and make it a memorable one.

IMA TNSB Elections

In this TIMA State elections for 2017 and 2018 has been duly announced and the schedule has been published. I hope the elections will help and give an opportunity to our members to serve our Association. At 283rd State Council Meet at Madurai as a policy to conduct elections online and to be implemented is a phased manner. This is a good move and will save lot of trouble in future.

E-Connect

We are going ahead to make dynamic automated cloud based platform for IMA TNSB and for all our Wings and Schemes as well, in a single platform. Which has been approved by the State Council.

IMA Pension Scheme

We are discussing the various modalities and other aspects to implement IMA Pension Scheme to help our members and their families.

National Meet of Branch Presidents and Secretaries

I invite the Local Branch Presidents and Secretaries to give their names to attend National level meet at Gurgaon, Delhi on 10th and 11th October. Local Hospitality and stay will be given on first come first serve basis.

Tree Plantation Programme

As you all know the Green Doctors Street Programme is one of our State Programme. I request all the branches to actively implement this programme and make sure you take care of the Trees periodically. Branches can have this as one of their event in the Doctors Day celebration.

May 2nd Doctors Protection Day

You all know we had very successful one day Demands day (Token Strike) on May 2nd. At 283rd State Council Meet it has been resolved to observe May 2nd as Doctors Protection Day to insist the importance of Professional Freedom and Peaceful Practice.

Most of our members are not taking care of their health. Unless we are healthy, we cannot serve others.

The month of June was very busy. NHB Zonal Meet and Paramedical training program were held on 7th June at Trichy and was very useful. I thank IMA leaders of Tiruchi for their hospitality. PPLSS management committee meeting and FSC meeting were held on 14th June and we had a useful discussion. I attended International Yoga Day celebrations on 21.6.2015 at Kanchipuram and Vellore.

Membership growth in IMA, PPLSS and FSS are not upto expectations. Unless there is a large membership, we can't achieve anything in the government and public. I request the local branch presidents and secretaries to take interest to increase the membership. They should carry the message to the members about the advantages of joining the IMA.

I request the members to register for TIMACON going to be held on 12th and 13th of December at Vellore.

NHB is very happy to have conducted a very successful 105th Nursing Home Board meet at Trichy on 22-6-15. 200 delegates and around 30 office bearers participated the main discussion was around Accreditation for small and medium hospitals the one hour session saw very engaging discussion participated by our

past national HBI Chairman Dr.A. Zameerpasha, Chairman Technical committee NABH Dr.Murali Srinivas and Architech Mr.Anuradha with critic comments from our national vice president Dr.L.P.Thangavelu. There was a discussion on medical case audit, efficient running of pharmacy and infection control programme TNHSP was represented by their team. We thank the state office for their help and support and also our heart felt thanks to IMA Trichy which made excellent arrangements our gratitude goes to Dr.MS.Ashraf former national vice president, Dr.R.Gunasekaran former state president Dr.Sethuraman president and Dr.W.Justine Secretary IMA Trichy in this regards. Our next meeting for south zone is to be held in Courtallam in good season in the month of September the exact date shall be announced later.

Greetings from Paramedical Wing!Zonal Meet:

Our 14th Paramedical meet was at Trichy on 7th June. Theme for this meet was “PARAMEDICS ARE THE BACK BONE FOR THE HOSPITALS”. Nearly 300 paramedics mostly working staffs form various hospitals in and around Trichy took part in the meet.Dr.Muralidharan Dean Govt medical college Trichy was the chief guest. Our state president Dr.RVS Surendran presided the meet and all the faculties stressed and highlighted the importance of the Paramedics in the betterment of the patients

and the wellbeing of the Hospital.

Our special thanks to Dr.Ashraf, Dr.Gunasekaran, Dr.Sethuraman,Dr.Justin and their team from IMA Trichy for the excellent arrangements at the CSI Hospital Auditorium and their Team of faculties for the work shop. Courses and Examination: Exams were conducted for 1300 students from nearly 55 institutions from 1st june to 5th june. Results will be announced soon.Newer Institutions: 20 Newer institutes have applied Books: IMA TNSB Paramedical wing will come out with books for various courses being conducted this year. Books will be ready in few months time. People interested please contribute your ideas. International Nurse day Celebration : Nurses day was celebrated through out the state by various IMA Branches , Paramedical institutions, And our NHB Member Hospitals On 12thMay. Dear Brothers & Sisters, The 2nd Governing council meeting of IMA academy of medical specialities National HQ was held at IMA building Bhubaneshwar, Odyssa State on 9th June 2015. As governing council member from Tamil Nadu I was invited and participated on the same day “Amscon-Odyssa” also was held. It also was the 5th Annersary of the foundation day of IMA Insitute, Bhuvaneswar I actively participated in all these festivals & was honoured by Odyssa IMA. It was indeed a great joy to meet our IMA brothers & Sisters from another state. This year’s Amscon National conference would most probably be held at Berhampur, Odyssa State. I would request all our IMA AMS Chapters, to encourage their members to apply for “FIAMS FELLOWSHIPS” & receive them at the National AMSCON Convocation. On 13th June 2015, IMA AMS TN State chapter along with IMA Poonamallee high Road branch organised an interstate CME the 1st of its kind academic cooperation with IMA Maharastra sate, at Rajan Eye Care Hospital, Chennai, Presided over by me, Dr. Ketan K Mehta, spoke on cardio Metaboic Syndrome role of palm to cutrienol, Ms. Bhavna Shah spoke on global oil scenarid, followed by interactive panel discussion, 60+ doctors participated. On 20th & 21st June 2015, Apollo infectious disease conference was held at the rain tree, Chennai, in which many of our members participated many clinically useful topics were discussed. Basics of antibiotic use in clinical practice, Lab tests : what’s right what’s not? were among them. Let us avoid inadvertently proscribing antibiotics in our OP practice, leading to resistant pathogens 21st June was “International Father’s Day”. While we are thankful to our Earthly Fathers & Our Heavenly Father, for his Protection & Care. Let us also do our Good-Given Commission to bring up our Children in Good Conduct & Behavior. 21st June was also observed as “ World Yoga Day”. Let us encourage Yoga practices in the daily routine of life, to prevent illnesses & Effect remission of aching symptoms.

Dear Colleagues ! Greetings ! We the members of CGP Team Tamilnadu State Branch greet each and every one of you a bright prosperous and successful professional carrier on the eve of ' Doctor's Day' Celebration which falls on 1ST July being the birth day of great medical celebrity of 20th Century Dr.Bidhan Chandra Roy. I am very glad to inform our members that the Cardiology Course and Echocardiography Course classes have already commenced for the year 2015 – 16. The first module in Sexology Course was conducted on Sunday the 21st June 2015 at Chennai. Also the first module of Diabetology Course – Chennai Centre also took place in the month of June. Our Diabetology Course Co-ordinator Dr.Parthiban had plans to go to U.S in the month of July 2015 and hence we could not fix up a date for diabetology I module for Madurai Centre. But now Dr.Parthiban has postponed the trip as per his revised programme, and hence we may be able to fix up a date in the month of July for Madurai Centre to Suit the Convenience of all concerned. Since our Co-ordinator Dr.Kumaravel is very busy with the “ Trendo 2015” at Kodaikanal which is to take place on 10th , 11th and 12th July 2015 we may start the Endocrinology Course for the year 2015 most likely in the first week of August. All the participants of various courses are kept informed about their classes.

Dear members,

Greetings from Erode. Our PPLSSS Management Committee Meeting was conducted at JVL PLAZA PPLSSS Guest House, Chennai. We noted that there are more court notices sent to our members regarding cases. Usually we will receive a lawyer notice or consumer council notice. We will immediately reply stating that we deny all their allegations and we would reply in thirty days. Then the legal committee Chairman will prepare the reply. We have to help him by giving subject inputs. Then we have to reply through our lawyer to the notice. The lawyer can be arranged through the PPLSSS District Coordinator. Usually we have PPLSSS lawyers in each district. Otherwise the member can engage his lawyer and inform the District Coordinator, Legal Committee Chairman and the PPLSSS Secretary. The PPLSSS will send the advance cheque to that lawyer and he will proceed in the court. Because of the nicely prepared answers, manylawyer notice / consumer council notice cases are not taken to the court.

But during this quarterly year, we have received 12 court notices. This means that we don't have much time to study about the case and prepare the reply. Straight away we have to go to the court. This is a very important twist.

So I request all our members to be attentive and as soon as any notice is received by the member,he should immediately send the acknowledgement letter and inform the Dist Coordinator, Legal Committee Chairman and the PPLSSS office. Time should not be wasted. There are many cases which for reply answer has to be prepared by the legal committee.By delaying, your reply writing will get delayed.Please write the case sheet neatly and record matters which you had informed orally also. Please get the attender's signature stating that they were informed. All these are needed and to be sent to legal committee office during reply preparation.

Last month it was written as Family Security Scheme of PPLSSS by over sight. Many of our members noted and pointed out to me. Happy that our members are reading. Only in FBS of PPLSSS, we have the health coverage and not in FSS.

If any member wants to represent in person, they can write to the PPLSSS Secretary Office, get reply and come and represent the matter during the Management Committee Meeting. Blood donation camps were conducted all over the State with enthusiasm. Reports are awaited.

Trip to Ceylon – Pilgrimage type - from Sunday 10.01.2016 to 17/18.01.2016 (Pongal Time) is arranged as per personal request of some of our members. Please contact if interested.
