What a horrible moment it would be if we stood before God on judgment day and had nothing to say for ourselves. The parable presents a rather grim end for the servant who did nothing with the one talent that the Master had given him. Our Mission - WE, the people of Our Lady of Consolation Parish guided by the Holy Spirit and nourished by

the Eucharist, pledge to continue the mission of Jesus Christ who announced the reign of God. We accept His

challenge to proclaim the Good News of salvation that Jesus, the Christ, died for us, and in Him we have life to the

fullest measure. We seek to live as He lived, in service to others, building a community of faith and hope, with

God’s grace as our strength and the peace of Christ our heart’s desire. A Parishioner is - one who is registered

and participates in the liturgical life of the parish and demonstrates their support, as reflected in the Parish Mission

Statement, by completing and fulfilling an annual Stewardship Commitment of Time, Talent and Treasure.

A Message of Hope

The story of the talents is a powerful reminder of God’s generosity to each one of us. In the parable, the master, upon learning that one of his servants had made an additional five talents is so impressed that he says, “Come share your master’s joy”, and to another servant he says, “Since you were faithful in small matters, I will give you great responsibilities.”

God has been generous to us and we are expected to multiply that generosity in the way that we build His Kingdom on earth. What are the means by which we accomplish this great task? Sharing our Time, Talent and Treasure in the pursuit of building our parish community. I can’t imagine that my answer surprised you. What a horrible moment it would be if we stood before God on judgment day and had nothing to say for ourselves.

The parable presents a rather grim end for the servant who did nothing with the one talent that the Master had given him. Our parish should be justly proud of itself because so many people continue to share their gifts with us and the parable of the talents reminds us that God expects this sharing to be an important part of building His Kingdom in our midst.

Ministries/Activities

The Giving Tree

The Giving Tree for the Christmas gifts for the children of Our Lady of Victories will be available the weekend of November 25th – November 26th. Please take an “ornament” and purchase an age appropriate gift for the child listed AND use the ornament as your label for the gift (these are needed to aid in sorting the gifts for delivery). All gifts need to be returned to OLC the weekend of December 9th – 10th. The gifts will be picked up the morning of December 11th, so PLEASE be prompt with bringing your gift that weekend (we don’t want any child to be disappointed!).

If you miss getting an ornament, please contribute a gift anyway! We have other children to help too. Just mark the package to indicate the appropriate gender/age the gift is geared toward.

The gifts will be sorted and prepared for delivery following the 12 noon mass on Sunday, December 10th, so if you have a little time to offer to help in this process, we welcome that extra contribution.

All Soul’s Envelopes…

All Soul’s envelopes, commemorating the names of

your loved ones, will remain on the altar during the

month of November.
