Since you are members of the Crozier Society, I am offering this invitation to you first, and you are welcome to invite your family and friends before we open it up to the general public. Enclosed with my letter is the itinerary with all the details of our pilgrimage, including the reservation form on the back. Because space is limited to 65 pil- grims, I hope you will re- spond as quickly as you can. I thank you for considering this opportunity to join me on our pilgrimage to Spain, where together we will ask God’s continued blessings on your families, parishes and our Archdiocese. By now you have received the invitation to join me on a sacred pilgrimage to Spain September 15-24, 2014, which includes two nights in Burgos, two nights in Santiago de Compostela at the historic 5- star Hotel Parador, and four nights in Madrid. One of our highlights will be visiting the place where pilgrims from all over the world have trav- eled for more than 1,000 years in order to the see the tomb of the Apostle St. James, the patron saint of our Archdiocese. It will be my privilege to cele- brate the Eucharist with you each day in renowned cathe- drals and monasteries. We will visit some of the cathe- drals where pilgrims stop to pray while walking the Way of St. James. One of our Masses will be celebrated in the beautiful cathedral in Santi- ago de Compostela. We will also spend time in the walled city of Avila and a Carmelite convent and monastery, where we will learn about the lives of St. Teresa of Avila and St. John of the Cross. This past July Fr. Bryan Dolejsi & Fr. Gary Zender embarked on a 150-mile cycling pilgrimage through Western Washington. It’s become an annual event for Fr. The bike ride is a way to encour- age young men to think about God’s will in their lives and con- sider the religious life of a priest. Along the journey, Fr. Bryan and Fr. Since you are members of the

Crozier Society, I am offering

this invitation to you first, and

you are welcome to invite

your family and friends before

we open it up to the general

public. Enclosed with my

letter is the itinerary with all

the details of our pilgrimage,

including the reservation

form on the back. Because

space is limited to 65 pil-

grims, I hope you will re-

spond as quickly as you can.

I thank you for considering

this opportunity to join me

on our pilgrimage to Spain,

where together we will ask

God’s continued blessings on

your families, parishes and

our Archdiocese.

By now you have received

the invitation to join me on a

sacred pilgrimage to Spain

September 15-24, 2014,

which includes two nights in

Burgos, two nights in Santiago

de Compostela at the historic

5- star Hotel Parador, and

four nights in Madrid. One of

our highlights will be visiting

the place where pilgrims from

all over the world have trav-

eled for more than 1,000

years in order to the see the

tomb of the Apostle St.

James, the patron saint of our

Archdiocese.

It will be my privilege to cele-

brate the Eucharist with you

each day in renowned cathe-

drals and monasteries. We

will visit some of the cathe-

drals where pilgrims stop to

pray while walking the Way of

St. James. One of our Masses

will be celebrated in

the beautiful cathedral in Santi-

ago de Compostela. We will

also spend time in the walled

city of Avila and a Carmelite

convent and monastery, where

we will learn about the lives of

St. Teresa of Avila and St. John

of the Cross.

This past July Fr. Bryan Dolejsi &

Fr. Gary Zender embarked on a

150-mile cycling pilgrimage

through Western Washington.

It’s become an annual event for

Fr. Bryan—last year he rode

from Forks to Anacortes, and

next year he plans on hitting

parishes throughout Southwest

Washington.

The bike ride is a way to encour-

age young men to think about

God’s will in their lives and con-

sider the religious life of a priest.

Along the journey, Fr. Bryan and

Fr. Gary stop at several Catholic

parishes to celebrate Mass, talk

about the Seminary and their

experiences in the priesthood.

Currently, the Archdiocese of

Seattle has 31 men in seminary,

many of them studying at Mt.

Angel in Oregon.

Fr. Bryan is already planning next

year’s “Pedaling the Priesthood”

pilgrimage. “If kids see us doing

things outside of Mass, it be-

comes easier for them to wrap

their heads around the priest-

hood. My goal is to break the

stereo-type.”
