GUIDE LINES / INSTRUCTIONS FOR

‘BEST WELDING ENGINEER’ EXAMINATION SCREENING TEST

• “Online screening” is applicable for candidates with Indian Nationality

• Competition is FREE and open to all our members as well as to the non-members. The past winners

of the National Level Competitions for the above are not eligible to take part in this competition

• Eligibility Criteria:

1. The minimum qualifications for the candidates for the Best Welding Engineer’s test are:

a) Graduate Engineers with min.2 years’ experience preferably in welding technology OR

b) Diploma with min. 5 years’ experience in welding technology OR

2. Science Graduate with min. 10 years’ experience in welding and its allied subjects.

3. Must be capable of reading engineering drawing / blue prints.

4. Must have basic knowledge of the art of joining of different materials

5. Must have knowledge in Inspection, QA & QC, costing & safety in welding Technology

• Online Screening Test Duration: 10th

to 20th

October 2018 (both days inclusive)

The purpose of on-line screening is to provide ease/convenience for the candidates to appear for

the examination.

� Every user needs to specify User Name / email id, which will be used for further communication

� Ensure that your device / PC has un-interrupted internet connection

� Log in to www.iiwindia.org , click on “Register”, and select for “Best Welding Engineer Competition”

� Fill the registration form carefully with all details and ‘submit’. You will receive your login password

on your registered email id.

� Click on “Login for Online Exam” and key in your ‘user name’ and ‘password’ once your ID is

activated by the Administrator ( you will receive email for ID Activation )

� Duration of the test is Thirty (30) minutes.

� Test consists of Multiple-choice questions (There is no negative marking for wrong answers)

� Read the instructions carefully before clicking on “Start Exam”. Click “Next” after every selection

� Once you click on “Start Exam”, a timer will get activated.

� To answer a question, click on the appropriate option from four options provided for each question

� Select an answer from the choice provided and click on “Next” for the next question

� After answering all the questions, click on “Submit”. This will end the on line examination.

� You will get Confirmation Email for completion of screening test

� Top 10 scorers shall be called for the Final written examination followed by an interview.

Communication will be made via E-mail ID provided by you.

� One user can opt for screening exam only once. If it is observed that a candidate has appeared

twice, IIW reserves the right to cancel his registration and to prevent the candidate from appearing

for the written test even if he is one of the top 10 scorers.

� During the test, if you are disconnected from the Internet due to any unavoidable reasons, or if the

Test is terminated before you click on “Submit” button, you need to send an email to

[email protected] for re-activating your password to complete exam
