A Marian Journey to Fatima & Lisbon On the Occasion of the 100th Anniversary of the Apparitions Plus Nazare, Obidos, Santarem, Estoril, Coimbra, Alcobaha & Batalha Proposed 8-Day Itinerary TUES, DAY 1: DEPART: We depart on our flight from Washington-Dulles to Lisbon. WED, DAY 2: LISBON / SANTAREM / FATIMA: Upon arrival in Lisbon this morning we are met by our Catholic Travel Centre rep- resentative. Our private mo- torcoach is waiting to take us to Fatima. En route to Fati- ma we stop at Santarem, site of a reported Miracle of the Eucharist. As we approach Fatima we stop at Batalha, home to the former Domini- can cloister of Santa Maria da Vitoria. Tonight dinner is at the hotel in Fatima. (D) THURS, DAY 3: FATIMA: VISIT OF THE SHRINE – 100TH ANNIVERSARY YEAR: To- day we visit the Tombs of Francisco and Jacinto, the Aljustrel where the chil- dren lived, and the Valinhos, where Our Lady appeared af- ter the children’s return from prison. We have the option of praying the Stations of the Cross, plus we have time for our own devotions. Tonight we enjoy a festive welcome dinner at Ourem Castle, with the show of the ancient kings and queens. (B, D) FRI, DAY 4: FATIMA: EXCURSION TO COIM- BRA: This morning we begin with Mass at the Little Chapel of the appari- tions. Then, we board our motorcoach and make our way to Coimbra, the University Town. After a visit to Coimbra, we return in the afternoon to Fati- ma for the balance of our day at leisure for private devotions. Dinner is served at our hotel. (B, D) SAT, DAY 5: FATIMA: EXCURSION TO NAZARE & ALCOBAHA: We depart Fatima for Nazare, a striking seaside village. Here, in the Chapel of Our Lady of Nazare on a cliff overlooking the ocean, we celebrate Mass. After some time for browsing the lo- cal markets of this fishing village, we continue to the Monastery of Saint Mary of Alcobaha, one of Por- tugal’s most impressive religious monuments. We return to Fatima for the evening. (B, D) SUN, DAY 6: FATIMA / OBIDOS / LISBON: Our first stop of the day is the picturesque town of Obi- dos, known for its many striking chapels and craft and art shops displaying original handiworks, Men- tioned for its beauty by Queen Isabel de Aragon, in the 13th cen- tury, the town was given to her by her husband King Dinis. Proposed 8-Day Itinerary

TUES, DAY 1: DEPART: We depart on our flight from Washington-Dulles to Lisbon.

WED, DAY 2: LISBON / SANTAREM / FATIMA: Upon arrival in Lisbon this morning we are met by our Catholic Travel Centre rep-resentative. Our private mo-torcoach is waiting to take us to Fatima. been patronized by the Queens of Portugal, giving rise to its informal title as Vila das Rainhas (Town of the Queens); several royal consorts enriched the vil-lage with donations from the middle ages until the 16th century. We’ll take some time for lunch on our own and to stroll the cobblestone streets lined with colorful houses and admire the 12th century castle.

We continue to Lisbon to visit ‘Santo Antonio Da Se’, marking the site where in 1195 St. Anthony of Padua , the patron saint of Portugal, was born. Here we celebrate Mass. After Mass, we check-in to our hotel for dinner and the evening. (B, D)

MON, DAY 7: LISBON: VISIT & EXCURSION TO SINTRA: This morning we make our way to view the Belem Tower and the gothic Monastery of St. Jeronimo followed by Mass at the Cathedral, hous-ing the Saint’s baptismal font. Then we are off to the UNESCO World Heritage town of Sintra. In 1809, Lord Byron wrote “I must just observe that the village of Sintra in Estremadura is the most beautiful in the

world.” As true today as it was then, our visit will include the town and the National Palace. We have some time at lei-sure for lunch on our own, and to stroll the charm-ing streets before returning to Lisbon. Dinner is served at our hotel. (B, D)

TUE, DAY 8: RETURN TO THE USA: We trans-fer to the airport for our return flight to the United States. (B)
