T-55
MEDIUM TAKK
Similar in most external respects to its predecessor the T - 5 4 , the T-55 is the medium tank in common use in the Warsaw Pact Countries. Both the T - 5 4 and T - 5 5 can be identified by a gap between the first and second of the five road wheels.
A 580 BHP diesel engine powers the tank through a rear drive sprocket. The gun is horizontally and vertically stabilised.
Hole: Medium Combat Tank.

T-62
MEDIUM TANK
The T-62 is replacing the T 5 4 / 5 5 series in the Soviet Ariay. The primary improvement upon the T-55 is the mounting of a 115mm gun.
The T-62 can be readily distinguished from the T-55 by different road wheel spacing and a fume extractor two-thirds of the way down the gun barrel.
A modified version of the T-62 exists with an AA machine gun mounted on the loaders cupola.

This tank has not yet been seen outside USSR. It may be the eventual successor to the T-62. The suspension with six road wheels and three return rollers distinguishes it immediately from the Christie suspension of the T-62.
There are also differences in turret shape and position while the commanders cupola is on the right of the turret.
