A FUNNY THING HAPPENED AS I WAS SEEKING THE LORD

life• I started to understand that Scripture not only teaches me about

God, it also teaches me how to see my life

Plan• My life is a part of God’s plan

• So my life has meaning

• In the good

• In the bad

• In the short term

• In the long haul

Success• I stumbled across all these ideas of success in the Bible

• Some are good, but bad for you

• Some are the opposite of what I want

• Some are encouraging

• Some are scary

Alien • In the Bible success is not so personal, it’s not all about me

• Success is about taking care of my own spiritual condition

• Success is taking care of the spiritual condition of others

• Success is not about this world

• It’s un-worldly

Balance• Balance

• The Bible talks about a body, mind, soul and spirit

• Every part counts

• Spirit is not good and body bad

• The Bible teaches you how to balance all of your life

Imbalance• You can’t make up for imbalance

• You can’t be “overly good” in one area to make up for a weak area

• We have strengths

• Strengths cannot make up for weaknesses

Weakness• Weakness is the Bible’s word for needing help

• In this world needing help is “weak”

• In the Bible it is about relationships, love

• It’s about depending on others and God

• It’s about calling out PRIDE

• Weakness in the Bible is not hidden

• You don’t need to fear your weakness

Meaning • The Bible will tell you about the meaning of life

• The meaning of pain and suffering

• The meaning of joy, of love

• The meaning of trials and temptations

• The meaning of prosperity and poverty

• The meaning of life and death

There is a lot of meaning in the Bible

Seeking resulted finding• When you seek the Lord you learn about

• Life

• Work

• Relationships

• Society

• Culture

• Education

• Family
