For I know the plans that I have for you, declares the Lord. Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call upon Me and come and pray to me and I will listen to you. You will seek Me and find me when you seek me will all your heart. God has plans to save, to redeem, to transform, to heal, to prosper His church and His people. It is not God’s will that any should perish but that all should come to repentance and faith in Jesus Christ His Son. I wonder today, if the church of Jesus Christ has the heart of God. Do we long to prosper in HIM? I know that we all long to prosper, but do we long to prosper in HIM? Do we yearn for more of Jesus? Do we desire to love God more today than we did last week, and more tomorrow than we did today? Is the church of the USA, and are we, willing to die for Jesus? Does the church today, weep for the condition of society? Do we travail in prayer for lost souls to be saved? Is the church crying out to God on behalf of our children, marriages, the lonely, the addicted, the convicted, and then listening to do what God would have us to do for these situations? God has plans to prosper His people and plans to give us hope and a future in HIM. Oh that the church today would long for more of HIM, and watch God move in ways that can only be explained as a move of God. To the glory of God. I pray this is our hearts desire brothers and sisters. I pray this for Motley FMC and His church everywhere. Friends, will you commit to pray this summer for the leadership of this church? We long to do the will of God. I am asking that you commit to pray for the BOA, the pastors and ministry leaders as we seek to do what God would have us to do, in every circumstance. Will you pray for our nation and the church of Jesus Christ? We need the guiding hand of God today more perhaps, than ever before in our history. June will be busy too. Several of us will be leaving this week to go to our conference meetings Thursday through Saturday. We will have our annual VBS week June 20 th -24 th . Thank you in advance for praying for this week, the staff and the preparations for VBS. May I also mention some things in July? On July 17 th Thom and Sherry Cahill will be with us to share about their desire to become missionaries to Africa. On July 24 th we will have our annual river baptism again. On July 31 st we will have the Hartley family here again to sing and play for us in the evening. So please put these important dates on your calendars too. Tomorrow, May 30 th , is Memorial Day here in the USA. Why not take the time to go to a service at some cemetery or school and remember those that have given all to insure the freedoms that we enjoy here in the USA. There are services in Pillager and in Staples. There are services at Bridgman cemetery and Motley cemetery and Poplar cemetery. There is a service here at the Motley school at 10:00 am too. I praise and thank the Lord God for blessing America. And I say thank you men and woman of the armed services that have served and thank those that have given all. YOUTH NEWS:

In May, the youth had several events. May 1st we

celebrate our high school seniors: Ashley Crider,

Sammy Simon, and Josh Hoemberg. Senior Sunday

is to help our seniors know we love them and pray for

their future. We bring them up front to present them

with a Bibles! Congratulations Seniors!! May 4 was a

regular youth night followed by two event weeks.

Wednesday, May 11, Joy from LAPS came and shared

the value of abstinence with our youth. Then, on

Wednesday, May 18, 2016 we had our first adventures

at Charlie’s. Thank you Charlie, Estelle and all parents

who volunteered to chaperone that evening! Another

exciting thing that happened in May was the

graduation of our AWANA 6th graders! We invited all

6th graders to start youth group in May! The youth also

started a new video series on choices as well!

In June, we have another Adventure’s at Sue & Mike’s

lined up for June 15th. A note/permission slip will come

home shortly for parents as to the actual events taking

place! The group will still plan to leave the church at 5

pm again and return around 8 pm.

If you have any questions, prayer requests, etc…

please feel free to talk with Tim/Jess Judd or Craig

Weigel [email protected] or 218-296-2441,

we look forward to God’s guiding and watching what

He does in the hearts and lives of these young people!!

BOARD OF ADMINISTRATION MEETING MINUTES: Present: Linda Beebe, Kathy & Pastor Richard Broberg, Charlie Poulton, Craig Weigel, Pat Doyle, Pastor Jim Johnson, & Traci Birkholtz Guests Present: Duane Brayton Devotional/Prayer: Reading from A.W. Tozer, Hebrews 10:36

Many lovers of His crown, but few lovers of the cross… Old Business: Reviewed April 25, 2016 Secretary Minutes. Linda mentioned that in last month’s Treasurer report the terms, “Building Fund of $6,190.00” should be worded as “Additional Building Offerings” in the future – so there is no confusion. Craig motioned to accept the Secretary Report with the change mentioned, and Kathy seconded motion. No discussion, all agreed, motion carried.

Reviewed April 30, 2016 Treasurer Report. Linda reported beginning balance in checking account was $28,556.40 with offerings of $86,356.07 and Pass Through Monies of $8,146.40 for a total of $123,058.87. Year to date expenses of $90,522.73 leaving a balance in checking as of April 30, 2016, of $32,536.14. Savings Account balance is $5,000.82. Building Loan Balance is $62,434.82 and YTD Additional Building Offerings is $6,190.00. Traci motioned to accept Treasurer’s Report, Charlie seconded motion. No discussion, all agreed, motion carried. VBS – We could still use a few leaders. We will have youth assisting us again this year. Sue and Dan are currently working on the props. We have some donations yet to fill, but no major concerns at this time.

Conference Meetings – Coming up the first weekend in June. The last detail left is to figure out carpooling. Youth Leader Training – Craig attended in Wisconsin. He took away some new ideas and enjoyed the speaker and

what he had to offer. Next year it will be here in Minnesota and he feels it is definitely worth going to. New Business: Summer Camps – Discussion included: Announcing a deadline for registrations, and determining eligibility. Financial Help for Garage Roof – Frequent church attender has requested financial help for supplies to repair her roof. She is on a limited income and has family members willing to provide the labor. Kathy made a motion to help with a gift of $500, Craig seconded motion. No discussion, all agreed, motion carried. Summer Sunday School – Instead of finding a Sunday school replacement teacher for the fifth and sixth grade class, it was agreed upon to have them sit upstairs during church services. Missionaries: Tom and Sherry Cahill – Will be here July 17th to discuss how God is calling them to mission in Africa. Financial Help – A new resident at the Motley Motel was directed to us for financial assistance as she was in dire circumstances. $150 was paid towards her motel stay and a $150 gift card to Ernie’s was provided for gas and grocery assistance. Security Issues – Duane brought another option to the board in the way of protection. He showed us a print-out/brochure for film coverings. This would prevent the windows from shattering and at the same time it prevents heat loss during the winter months. Another consideration brought to our attention was having multiple doors in use makes it tougher to monitor who is coming and going. Discussion also included security cameras. Prices vary widely depending on wants and needs. Morey House – Realtor Sandy Knosalla visited the property and provided Pastor with possible comparisons. Looking to sell “As Is” rather than putting too much money into updates. Charlie closed with prayer.
