Steam Surface Condenser

Definition of SSC

The surface condenser is to condense low pressure turbine exhaust steam. The coolant can be either water or seawater. When coolant is normal water, the tube material can be stainless steel. In case of seawater, titanium tubes are used to protect tubes from corrosion. Depending on the capacity, the shape of casing can be either “Cylindrical” or “Rectangular“.

Definition of FWH

Definition of Deaerator Deaerators are to remove the dissolved air (Oxygen) in the Boiler Feedwater. Oxygen can cause boiler tube corrosion.

Definition of Closed Cooling Water Heater

Lubricating oil for the rotating parts is cooled by closed circulating water. This circulating water is then cooled either by shell-and-tube cooler or by air-fin cooler. ※ Fans are located underneath of hoods but top of bundles.

Definition of Fuel Gas Heater

Fuel gas is preheated by using hot water from a Boiler economizer. The gas is heated in shell side and hot water in tube side.
