Crystal Addey - Plato and the Neoplatonists on Harmony This talk will explore the approaches of Plato and Neoplatonist philosophers towards harmony in relation to their cosmological ideas and theories. These philosophers held that the cosmos was a single living being, an interconnected entity containing all other entities, and a harmonious whole. These ideas about the harmonious nature of the cosmos underpin and relate to the late antique practice of theurgy, a type of religious ritual used by Neoplatonist philosophers to connect with the gods. Theurgic ritual is based on a worldview where all planets and stars, ecosystems, humans, animals, plants and other natural entities such as gemstones, are connected to each other and to the gods. Does this worldview have any relevance for us today? It certainly has significant parallels with many contemporary indigenous and eastern traditions and cultures. This talk will examine these issues, emphasising in particular the importance of this worldview in relation to approaching and tackling current environmental problems and crises. Dr Crystal Addey is a Lecturer in Classics at University College Cork, an honorary Research Fellow in Classics at the University of St Andrews, and a Tutor for the Sophia Centre for the Study of Cosmology in Culture at the University of Wales Trinity St. David. She is the author of Divination and Theurgy in Neoplatonism: Oracles of the gods (Ashgate 2014) and has published widely on ancient philosophy and religions (with a focus on ancient divination). Tim Addey will speak about his father, John Addey’s works on Harmonics Nicholas Campion - Johannes’ Kepler’s Harmonic Astrology This talk will examine the notion of harmony and the political cosmology of Johannes Kepler (1571-1630). Kepler was the last major European scholar who combined the study of astronomy with the practise of astrology. Kepler believed that if astrology were to be completely reformed on a scientific basis, using only planetary cycles, then government could be properly managed in order to preserve harmony and stability, and avoid conflict. He was working directly from Pythagorean principles, seeing the entire Universe, and therefore human society, as governed by geometrical principles, and his plan was to construct the perfect government for the good of all. Does Kepler’s work make sense in the present day? Nicholas Campion is Associate Professor in Cosmology and Culture, Principal Lecturer in the Institute of Education and Humanities and Director of the Sophia Centre for the Study of Cosmology in Culture at the University of Wales Trinity Saint David, the only academic centre in the world to consider humanity’s relationship with the sky. has significant parallels with many contemporary indigenous and eastern traditions and cultures.

David. Nicholas Campion - Johannes’ Kepler’s Harmonic Astrology This talk will examine the notion of harmony and the political cosmology of Johannes Kepler (1571-1630). Kepler believed that if astrology were to be completely reformed on a scientific basis, using only planetary cycles, then government could be properly managed in order to preserve harmony and stability, and avoid conflict. He was working directly from Pythagorean principles, seeing the entire Universe, and therefore human society, as governed by geometrical principles, and his plan was to construct the perfect government for the

good of all. Does Kepler’s work make sense in the present day?

David Cochrane - Harmonic Astrology: The Most Evidence Based Astrology TodayNumerous astrology research studies in recent years suggest that consistent positive results can be obtained in quantitative research. The very promising results are obtained by applying the principles of harmonic astrology as presented by John Addey and Charles Harvey. In this lecture we learn about this research.

David Cochrane MA is a regular speaker at international astrology conferences, the winner of several awards including the 2018 Regulus Award for Discovery, Innovation, and Research. He is an astrology software developer, and is the research director for ISAR, and he has created over 350 free youtube tutorial videos.

David Hamblin - The Higher Prime Numbers (from 11 to 31)David will summarize his findings on the meaning of harmonic aspects involving the higher prime numbers and will discuss the implications for the interpretation of charts.

David Hamblin, M.A., D.F.Astrol.S., was Chairman of the Astrological Association from 1983 to 1985 and was a tutor for the Faculty of Astrological Studies. He has written three books: ‘Harmonic Charts’ (1983), ‘The Spirit of Numbers’ (2011), and ‘Harmonic Astrology in Practice’(2019). www.davidhamblin.net

Mike Harding - Let Us Count the Ways: Reflecting on Numbers and Patterns.Beginning with a brief over-view of Charles’ and John’s use of harmonics, Wittgenstein’s understanding of number will be offered to discuss and expand neo-Platonic thought. Many examples of various harmonics will be given using natal, relationship, family and mundane charts.

Mike Harding is an existential psychotherapist and consultant astrologer. A senior lecturer at Regent’s University, he has chaired the AA, the APAI and the Society for Existential Analysis. He is the author of Hymns to the Ancient Gods, co-author with Charles Harvey of Working with Astrology as well as many articles on both the technical and philosophical aspects of astrology.

Babs Kirby - Falling in Love and the 7th HarmonicFalling in love is the way most relationships begin in the West. While the synastry with our partner will describe the dynamics of a relationship, the 7th Harmonic shows the qualities we fall in love with. This is a brief look at some partnerships and their 7th harmonic chart.

Babs Kirby MA, D.F.Astrol.S. has played a part in the astrological community for over 30 years and is currently a UT Trustee. She was privileged to have Charles as a tutor on the Faculty diploma course and is delighted to be speaking at this event, to honour his memory. www.babskirby.com

Christeen Skinner - The Harmonics of the UniverseA practical guide to using harmonics in both natal charts and financial markets

Christeen Skinner D.F.Astrol S., FRSA is Director of Cityscopes London. She is a past Chair of the Astrological Association, and a Trustee of the Urania Trust. She is on the boards of NCGR and the Alexandria I-base project and author of ‘Exploring the Financial Universe’, ‘The Beginner’s Guide to Financial Astrology’ and ‘Navigating the Financial Universe’.

Sue Tomkins - Having Fun with the 5th HarmonicIn this pacey, light-hearted talk Sue will demonstrate the major ideas that are associated with the 5th. Revision for those familiar with the subject; a crash course for those new to it. Illustrated with many examples.

Sue Tompkins has for many years been a consultant, teacher and writer of astrology. Charles Harvey played an important role in her astrological education. His enthusiasm, philosophical outlook and devotion to his subject was inspirational and she is pleased to be honouring his memory at this event.
