requires cost model comprising (no personnel): Detector Infrastructure Sea operations Operation of detector Maintenance

Question to cost model: What will be the costs for a specific detector design at a specific site assuming a certain lifetime?

needed to compare different KM3NeT options(together with physics-sensitivity information from WP2)

Specific Requirements for Cost Model High flexibility:

allow for easy combination of components (units) to different detector setups at different sites

Reliable cost estimates to allow comparison of different KM3NeT options: detailed cost breakdown structure WPs have to provide accurate price tags

for each component, operation etc.

Interface to simulation software:access to cost information through simulation software

Vari-Calc from Kutzner Software (originally developed in EU FP3 project)

Costs: about 10 kEuro (including installation and adaptation to our specific needs)

Server-Client architecture with SQL-Server Direct access to database possible

… can be interfaced by other programs Demo version available

(buggy, improved version promised)
