After retiring from the NFL after four years, Leaf continued to battle with mental health and addiction issues, which ultimately landed him in jail. His cellmate encouraged Leaf to use the prison time to be of service to fellow inmates, which started his journey to recovery. An advocate for reducing the stigma surrounding mental health and addiction, Leaf travels the country sharing his story in order to reach those in need of hope. Leaf is also an ESPN football analyst and NFL Legends Community coordinator, helping former athletes make a successful transition to life after a high-profile career.
