The vast area of Northern Tanzania offers some of the world’s most diverse safari opportunities known as the ‘Northern Circuit’, which consists of National Parks, reserves, conservation areas and private concessions. Among these is the world famous Serengeti National Park and the Ngorongoro Crater and Highlands, and of course their less popular neighbors, Tarangire National Park and Lake Manyara National Park

Area in Tanzania known as the Northern Safari Circuit contains some of the most famous and remarkable sights in the world. Physical phenomena include Africa’s most famous peak, Mount Kilimanjaro, and the impressive Ngorongoro Crater while annual events like the Great Migration have been dubbed ‘The Greatest Show on Earth’.

Tanzania’s Northern Circuit is celebrated for some of the best wildlife safaris in Africa. Parks and reserves in the region include Tarangire National Park, Mount Kilimanjaro Trekking , Lake Manyara National Park, the Ngorongoro Crater Conservancy and of course – the Serengeti National Park.

The Northern Safari Circuit is undoubtedly one of the most impressive and condensed safari destinations in Africa.Northern Tanzania is home to several tribes most notably the Maasai and the Hadzabe

Best time to go on Safari in Northern TanzaniaThe annual migration of millions of wildebeest and zebra is a truly remarkable wildlife show and worth planning for. The best time to witness the migration is probably February - March when the wildebeest and zebra have their young. Not only can you enjoy seeing baby animals, but the predators are at the highest number too. Because the herds also concentrate in the south of the Serengeti, it's easy to plan your wildlife viewing in that area.

Tanzania is still worth visiting during the shoulder season; you'll be able to witness some wonderful wildlife, undisturbed by other tourists. The low-season is May - June when the heavy rains make many roads simply impassable. Rain also means that water is plentiful and the animals are able to scatter over a wider area -- making it more difficult for you to spot them.

The best time to climb Mount Kilimanjaro or Meru is September to early November during the dry season, when the sky is usually clear from clouds. Avoid rain season which starts March and ends in June, because the slopes are more slippery. However, the climbing can also be arranged for June and July.

Northern Safari Circuit AccommodationNorthern Circuit Accommodation for Tarangire, Lake Manyara, Ngorongoro Crater, and the Serengeti. One can also visit Olduvai Gorge in Ngorongoro Conservation Area and will get near the history of the cradle of Man Kind, the Laetori foot prints and Zinjanthropus skull history of homo habilis belonging.

Budget Level in the Northern Parks Circuit involves sleeping in light mobile tents set up on the ground in public campsites. Latrines and showers are shared and hot water is not always available. Cooking is done by a camp cook.

Mid-Range Level in the Northern Parks Circuit involves overnight in some brick and mortar venues but mainly overnight in remote settings inside very comfortable heavy canvas tents set up on platforms and covered with a thatched banda. Mid-Range generally includes adjoining private washrooms with hot water, a bar, and meals served in a nearby restaurant.

Luxury Level is much the same as described as for the mid-range level except the facilities and locations are of a higher standard.

Safari Travel to and in the Northern Park CircuitGenerally no walking is permitted and tourists travel with others inside a closed vehicle with a roof opening to stand up to view the game. Breathtaking early morning ballooning trips are also available in the Serengeti.

Transportation on the Circuit would consist of a larger four wheel drive vehicle equipped with a pop up roof for viewing and photographing game. There will also be an English speaking guide assigned to the vehicle who may also double as the driver.

A real treat in the Serengeti is to take a balloon ride over the park topped off with a champagne breakfast. A two to three night stay is the normal stopover in the Serengeti.
