Set of 4General InformationFold the fabric in half and then in half again. Where the two creases intersect is your starting point. Locate the center point of the design. Compare a symbol at the center of the chart to the key and choose which floss color to stitch first. Cut the floss into 15" lengths and separate all six strands. Refer to the Color and Symbol Chart for the number of strands to be used for each stitch. Recombine the proper number of strands for the stitches. Thread them into a blunt-tip needle.

To Secure Thread at the Beginning The most common way to secure the beginning tail of the thread is to hold it under the first four or five stitches.

To Secure Thread at the EndTo finish, slip the threaded needle under previously stitched threads on the wrong side of the fabric for four or five stitches, weaving the thread back and forth a few times. Clip the thread.

FinishingIron finished needlework on the wrong side using a dry pressing cloth and medium temperature setting; do not steam. Center the design inside the opening. Trim the aida to fit inside the card. Affix in place with double-sided tape.

Washing Instructions (without cards)1. Wash in lukewarm water using mild

dishwashing liquid. Do not use cold water fabric soap intended for hand washables, which may cause floss to bleed. Roll in a clean towel to squeeze out water, then unroll and lay on a flat surface to air dry.

2. If needed, press carefully, laying the needlework on a clean towel and using a pressing cloth. Press lightly at a moderate setting and do not use steam.

Full Cross-StitchMake one cross-stitch for each symbol on the chart. For horizontal rows, stitch the first diagonal of each stitch in the row. Work back across the row, completing each stitch. Remember to embroider the stitches uniformly—that is, always work the top half of each stitch in the same direction.
