A CHILD LOANED "I'll lend you for a while a child of mine," He said.
"For you to love the while he lives and mourn for when he's dead. It may be six or seven years, or twenty-two or three,
But will you, till I call him back, take care of him for me? He'll bring his charms to gladden you, and should his stay be brief,
You'll have his lovely memories as solace for your grief."
"I cannot promise he will stay; since all from earth return, But there are lessons taught down there I want this child to learn.
I've looked the wide world over in My search for teachers true And from the throngs that crowd life's lanes I have chosen you.
Now will you give him all your love, not think the labor vain, Nor hate Me when I come to call to take him back again?"
"I fancied that I heard them say, "Dear Lord, Thy will be done!
For all the joy Thy child shall bring, the risk of grief we run. We'll shelter him with tenderness, we'll love him while we may,
And for the happiness we've known, forever grateful stay; But should the angels call for him much sooner than we've
planned, We'll brave the bitter grief that comes and try to understand!"

REFLECTIONS OF HIS LIFE Knowledge Alex Sims entered the world on
Sunday, June 24, 2012. He entered with an
infectious smile that he shared with
everyone until he entered into eternal rest
on Thursday, April 30, 2020.
God knew that his parents Dante (David
Liles) Sims and Alex Anderson both of
Columbia, needed a child that would change
the world with his presence. Knowledge
would physically on Earth a few short years
but his memory will last forever.
Knowledge lived up to his name while at
Watkins-Nance Elementary during
Kindergarten and First grade. During those years, his principal, Dr. Linda
Norton, would greet him when his mom pulls through the carpool line.
Knowledge and Dr. Norton had a daily routine to prepare for the day. Dr.
Norton would remind him of his purpose and explain that his teachers
Mrs. D. Murph and Mrs. M. Blackwell, had high expectations. Knowledge
would gently smile as to say, “I got this.” And he did. Knowledge met the
expectations of the entire faculty and staff. He received academic awards
and had some of the highest gains on his yearly tests.
As Knowledge entered the halls of Watkins-Nance, he knew he was loved
by every adult. He continued his educational studies at Burton Pack
Elementary showing his artistic skills in his art class. Often times, he
would have engaging conversations with his principal, Dr. S. Smith about
the shoes they were wearing.
Knowledge has a love for sports and showing off his athletic ability. He
played football for the Tre3 Canes and showed his dribbling skills while
playing basketball with his siblings.
In addition to his loving parents, Knowledge leaves to cherish precious
memories to his siblings: Dionte’ Sims, Adonte’ Sims, Adontis Sims, Lionel
