We are delighted to have visitors worship with us!

To aid you in our liturgy, we want to acquaint you with

our following custom: In the Lord’s Prayer, we use the

words, “Forgive us our debts… our debtors.” We encour-

age you to stand for singing if you are able as the organ

sounds the first note of introduction. When appropriate to

the hymn, the organist and choir will lead the congrega-

tion in singing, “Amen.”

Assistive listening devices (amplified earphones and

telecoilneckloops), large print bulletins and hymnals

are available from the ushers.

Child Care is provided in the Education Building for in-

fants through Kindergarten.

All worshippers are encouraged to sign the Attendance/

Friendship pad, greet your friends, and welcome visitors.

The flowers today are given by Joanne & Harry Farley to honor their grandchildren: Christopher & Nikolas Farley; David King, III; Peyton King; and Krista Farley.

Capsule of Concern: Roberta Mealey, Ruth Moffitt, Tillie

Paul, Louise Garrison Monroe, Ann Warner, Herb Rudolph,

The rosebud on the pulpit rail celebrates the birth of

Missions

Our church will assist Habitat for Humanity in refurbishing a house located at 215 Glover Street

in Mayfield. The work includes cleanup, some flooring, painting, small carpentry work and out-

side work. Work days are scheduled for December 30, January 2 and 9. If you can lend an hour

or two, please get in touch with Bob Snow, 710-2432 or [email protected].

Youth

No Youth meetings tonight or next Sunday, January 3. Meetings will resume January 10.

There are still a few spaces available on the Senior High Mission trip, turn your forms in to

Sarah Dennis as soon as possible.

Christian Education

The Sunday School brunch will begin our Sunday School winter/spring semester on Sunday,

January 3 at 9:30 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall. All food and beverages will be provided by the

Christian Education Committee. Near 10:00 a.m. we will dismiss to all classes including the new

adult classes. We look forward to each of you joining us for the brunch and for a class that will

nurture your faith.

A Year with the Bible booklets are available on the table outside the sanctuary and in the church

office. The booklets have daily Bible readings for each day including the Lectionary passages

used in Sunday worship.

Fellowship Events & Small Groups

On January 13, the Prime Timers will meet at 11:00 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall for salad and

games. Soup, bread, drink, dessert, and games will be supplied; however, you can also bring your

favorite game. Everybody call the Baileys at 371-1440 by January 10, so you can pick what you

want to bring for the salad from a list; if you get an answering machine, leave a message and they

will call you back.

A group of College Students and Rev. Dennis will be leaving for Montreat next Saturday,

December 2, at 7:00 a.m. for the College Conference. They will return the evening of January 5.

Brittany Harvey will also attend this conference representing Austin Presbyterian Theological

Seminary.

Building & Grounds

Dishwashers needed for Wednesday Night Dinners February 4 - March 31, time commitment is 6:00

p.m. - 7:15 p.m. or less depending on the number of dinner attendees. Please contact Krista Samson,

[email protected] or 373-4119 to sign up. Come for environmental responsibility, stay for Fun

and Fellowship!

Ever wondered who locks up the middle building, church house, and education building after

Sunday's worship is over? Well, we have a small team of volunteers on the Buildings and

Grounds Committee who individually perform lock-up duty, each serving one month at a time.

Our numbers have dwindled, so we can use additional volunteers to perform this important duty.

It only takes about 30 minutes to do the job, and training is available. For further information,

please contact Harry Farley at: [email protected], or via phone at 371-2631. A number of op-

portunities exist including the months of July through December 2010, act quickly or your favor-

ite month might be taken.

Service Opportunity ~ Magazine Ministry: Is anyone interested in helping Tracey Rembisz with

the magazines that go to the hospital. Do you have time to pick up the magazines and cut labels

or deliver them? Give Tracey a call at 548-1813.
