FIFTH SUNDAY OF LENT MARCH 29, 2020
THE VISITATION COLLABORATIVE
FROM THE PASTOR
A blessed 5th Sunday of Lent to all. There are two more weeks until Easter Sunday. It is hard to believe that it has come this quickly. On the other hand, it makes sense as these past two weeks have been filled with readjusting our lives. It saddens me that there is one more ad-justment to add to our lives...that we will not be able to celebrate Holy Week gathered in the same place together. All priests received notice this week about how we are to celebrate Holy Week and the Triduum. All of these liturgies will be live streamed from the church. I have been working this week to get us onto YouTube. My hope is that by Palm Sunday, we will be live streaming on YouTube, Facebook, and maybe even our website. Also, please keep looking for how we are going to celebrate East-er. I have had the chance to make my way through some of the neighborhoods this past week. It was nice to see so many people out: siblings playing together, parents playing with their kids, people walking together and talking with one another, and children showing off their cre-ativity with sidewalk chalk. There is a sense of peace that I have seen in many people as they are adjusting to the current situation. There are also many people who are under-standably stressed about: their work, their fi-nances, their family members who are at high risk, catching ill, and a whole countless number of concerns. I have been praying for all of you and the things that are challenging you from finding peace in Christ. I am sure you share with me the gratitude for all of our healthcare workers, first responders, police, and fire who are working hard to keep us safe. One way to help them is when you see one of them is to say a prayer to his or her guardian angel. This current state of affairs can be a time for each of us to be changed. I have no doubt that in all of this God wants us to become closer to being saints. By this I mean that God is
inviting us to become more like Himself in this time of real suffering. God is inviting us to love like Him: giving without calculating the cost, giving our whole self. There is a very real temptation at this time to turn in on ourselves and instead of becoming loving, to become more selfishly focused on ourselves. Interacting with fewer people in person can tempt us to schedule our days around oneself. One way to combat this is to be all the more intentional about the corporal and spiritual works of mercy. We should be all the more attentive as to how we can help others in this challenging time: calling an at risk neighbor to see if there is anything that they need, kids being more helpful to your parents in doing extra around the house, going out of your way to help a coworker or fellow classmate with a task....the Holy Spirit will show you many more possible works of love that you can per-form. While the corporal might be more readily ob-served, there is a great need for the spiritual works of love as well. Two that I would like to highlight: praying for the dying and coun-seling the doubtful. Building your hope on Christ will make you a source of inspiration for others who are struggling to get through these challenging times. And as for praying for the sick and dying: there are many people around the world with the virus who are in isolation and unable to be with their loved ones. Each of us can help them to know that God is present to them and that they are loved by praying for them. I believe that we can come out of this time of social distancing with greater faith in God, greater hope in Him, and greater love of Him. It will happen by God’s grace and our cooper-ation. May each of us listen and follow Him. In Christ our hope, Fr. Bennett

Ongoing… The Youth Group wants your returnable cans and bottle to raise funds for our activities. You may leave your items in front of the lower garage be-
low the Collaborative Office building. (Enter from Crane Road) Thank you!
Have you ever noticed that the busier you get, the harder it is to be a great Christian? It’s hard to be patient. It’s hard to find time to pray. It’s hard to grow in virtue. Saint Benedict figured
this out. He realized his daily routines—especially how he spent his mornings—had ma-jor impacts on his Christian life. We can learn
from him! Receive daily reflections like this one in your in-box by signing up at DynamicCatholic.com. This year’s program is based on Rediscover the Saints by Matthew Kelly.
Although we can no longer meet on Fridays to discuss, you can get a lot out of the program on
your own or with others in your household!

An Act of Spiritual Communion
My Jesus, I believe that You
are present in the Most Holy Sacrament. I love You above all things,
and I desire to receive You into my soul. Since I cannot at this moment receive You sacramentally,
come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace You as if You were already there and unite myself wholly to You. Never permit me to be separated
from You. Amen.

FIFTH SUNDAY OF LENT MARCH 29, 2020
THE VISITATION COLLABORATIVE Asking for your continued help
I know that we all are being affected by the coronavirus – socially, professionally, and financially. Our churches can only continue to operate because of your generosity: by giving your time, treasure, and talent. Currently and sadly, we are unable to gather and share our time and talents. It is with this in mind that I am humbly asking all parish-ioners to continue to support our church as you are able to. I have lowered our expenses during this time as best as I can (ex. turning down heat, limited office and rectory spending, and taken to do more cleaning on my part). We still have operating expenses without the possibility of tak-ing weekly Mass collections. How to contribute:
1. Please consider signing up for online giving: St. Elizabeth https://
www.visitationmilton.org/donate-info
St. Mary of the Hills https://smhmilton.churchgiving.com/
2. Make a donation to the church via Venmo www.venmo.com/visitationmilton
3. Mail or drop off a donation to the offices at 29
St. Mary’s Road or the rectory at 350 Reeds-dale Road.
Thank you for all you have done and do to contribute to the mission of our community at the Visitation Col-laborative. In Christ our hope,
Dwell is an audio bible app.
At this time, Dwell is offering a 60-day free trial for Church group members.
You can sign up at this link:

Then add the app to your device and enjoy free for 60 days. You can quit at any time.

SAINT MARY OF THE HILLS SAINT ELIZABETH
There are many ways to remember our loved ones both living and deceased. Perpetual Candles, Anni-versary, Birthday, and Memorial Masses, donations of Flowers, Altar Breads and Wine and Sanctuary Light are just a few. If you would like to have your loved one remembered by making a donation to the following, please call the Collaborative office. Altar Breads and Wine $60 per week Altar Flowers (1 Basket) $85 per week Sanctuary Light $60 per month Mass cards for both the deceased as well as special intentions for the living are available.
St. Mary of the Hills Perpetual Candle I would like to reserve a candle for: __ One year ($350)
OR__ One month ($40) Check payable to St. Mary of the Hills Parish

St. Mary of the Hills Perpetual Candle
Light a candle in memory/honor of someone or for a particular intention. They are a great way of inviting others to pray for your intention and to let others know that they are being prayed for here at St. Mary of the Hills. Another way to use these candles is to have one lit in honor of a recently deceased family member or friend instead of sending flowers. The parish would send out a card letting the family know that their loved one is being re-membered with our candle here at the church.
St. Mary of the Hills Perpetual Candles In memory of: Ellen Carlson and Angel Langlais For healing: Jim Kackley and Benicio Gobourne In honor of: Gloria Finnegan, The Ciampa Family Please remember them in your prayers. To memorialize or honor your own loved ones, there are forms at the candle stand or contact us in the office. Thank you.
We will continue to have St. Elizabeth Church open every day (7am-7pm) so that you might be able to have the best place (in the presence of our Eucharistic Lord) and the available time to pray. In addition to this, there will be the following: Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament: 7AM and 2PM Confessions: During Exposition or by appointment Confessions will be held in the room to the right of the sanctuary (door near the piano). This room pro-vides opportunity to be more than 6 ft. away and private.
During this challenging time, when the faithful
are unable to attend Mass,
Magnificat is honored to provide complimen-
tary access to our online version to help
people pray from home.

My precious and crucified Lord, I offer You this
Lent. I offer it to You with total abandonment and trust. I offer You my prayers, sacrifices and
works of charity.
Keep me faithful to my Lenten promises, and bring forth new life through these sacrifices of love. I pray that this Lent will be fruitful for me
and for all Your faithful.
Do with me, Lord, as You will. I know You have much to say to me and much to do in my life.
Show me the plan You have for me, and place my feet upon the path You have chosen.
Dearest Lord, help me to especially see my sin this Lent. Humble me so that I may see clearly.
Give me courage and strength to confess my sins, and to turn from them with all my heart.
Enlighten me with Your Holy Word, so that I may come to know You and to deepen the gift of faith in my life. In my suffering Lord, I thank You for
the fullness of Your perfect Sacrifice. I thank You for holding nothing back.
May I offer You my very life as a sacrifice,
trusting in Your mercy with every offering.
