A Buffyverse Apocalypse: Chapter SixteenBy RoseFyre
So it’s been a while since I’ve updated, as I’m sure you’ve all noticed, but I rather think that under six months isn’t sobad, when I was, you know, playing an entire generation and writing six updates for the Boolpropian Round RobinLegacy during that time. After, there was a bit of burnout, but it didn’t last too long, and now I’m back…though youmight want to glance at Chapter Fifteen to remember everything that happened.
Of course, I SHOULD be searching for a job rather than simming, but let’s ignore that, okay? Enjoy the story!
---
And, as always, I don't own Joss Whedon or any characters/places from Buffy/Angel.
Early mornings were often quiet, though this time it was rather frustrating. Lynne knew she didn’t have much timeleft, and she was spending what she could of it with her grandson. The problem, however, was that he kept refusingto learn to talk.
Meanwhile, her children were entertaining - and possibly traumatizing - Lilah’s latest woohoo partner.
At least the food was good.
Though even good food wasn’t going to stay down. Lilah had been pretty sure her woohoo with Michael had beensuccessful, but now she was completely sure.
Baby number four was on its way.
And, once breakfast was done, Lynne finally managed to get baby number one to say something, even if it wasn’t theword “Grandma.”
Later that day, Lorne stopped by and fed the babies their bottles.
It wasn’t like he really had much else to do, after all, and taking care of the kids had become a family affair.
“Unca Riwey!”
“Yes, Connor?”
“I gwow up!”
Riley looked up from the bottle he was cleaning up. “You’re growing up?”
“I do!”
And he did.
Almost no one was watching, but that was okay. Connor didn’t need to be the center of attention. He just needed tohave fun.
And now that he was a child, there were lots of fun things he could do.
Such as playing with the new family bird, who had been named Acathla.
And attending his younger brothers’ birthday party.
Which was unfortunately interrupted when Lynne got home from work.
The babies were put down on the sand, left to lie there, as everyone gathered around.
“Lynne Fitzgerald Whedon, it is your time.”
“Whoa, wait, I’m not ready to leave yet. I’ve got three grandsons, and probably one more on the way.”
“It is not for you to decide when to go.” Grim gestured and a drink appeared in his hand. “Besides, yourhusband is quite eager to see you.”
“Rupert’s waiting?”
“He is. He sent this drink for you.”
She paused, looking around. “Well, if it’s my time anyway.” Then she took the drink and faded into death.
All of her children mourned her death.
But life goes on, and there were twins to be tossed into toddlerhood.
Robin, with the darker skin and hair, grew up into a toddler tuxedo, while Richard, with the lighter skin and hair, grewup into a cute pair of overalls.
Both boys were exhausted from the late night, and were therefore promptly placed into their cribs.
The rest of the family split up for various activities.
“Riley, what’s up?”
“Stargazing.”
“Ah, you got stuck with the gig?”
“I like it, Lorne.”
“Have fun with that.”
“Yup. Definitely pregnant.”
Of course, toddlers don’t sleep for long, so the middle of the night led to two upset little boys.
They were both saved by their mother, who promptly gave them new hairdos and matching pajamas.
Their mother, however, needed her rest, so she put the twins down by the rabbit heads and headed to bed.Pregnancy wasn’t easy, after all, and each one seemed to be getting a bit harder, and Lilah needed sleep, food, andtime to herself.
The next day, Riley still didn’t have work - three days off in a row was not fun - so he stayed home and playedbabysitter. While the twins napped, however, he took some time to himself and taught Acathla to speak.
He was therefore the only one home when Connor came back from his first day of school.
“Uncle Riley, why are you cheering? I didn’t get an A plus.”
“No, but you did well, and I’m sure you’ll get one soon!”
In fact, his mother taught him to do homework that night - making it that much more likely he would get good gradessoon.
And then she popped into her third trimester.
The twins continued to be adorable - and glowy - with their rabbit heads.
And Tara learned just how hard it was to try and teach a recalcitrant toddler how to speak. “Come on, Richard, sayanything?”
He shook his head angrily and she sighed. “Well, no snuggles for you, then.”
He looked at her. “Snuggles?”
She clapped. “Yes, snuggles!”
“Snuggles now?”
She picked him up. “Definitely snuggles now.” They cuddled for a bit. “And now, mister, it is bedtime for you.”
“Crib!” Richard shouted.
“Yup. Crib.”
The next morning, Connor woke up bright and early to start earning his Body points. As no one had lifted LawEnforcement, he needed ten to go pretty much anywhere.
Unfortunately, the obstacle course really wasn’t all that easy.
---
Technically, only Teens and Elders need ten Body points to go anywhere but school, but I’ve decided it makes nosense that Children don’t, so I’m requiring it of my kids. They might as well have the points before they hitteenhood, anyway.
However, when he came home, Connor finally had his A plus.
And after he went to bed, his mother started working on romancing the family’s maid. “So, Remington, feel likegetting up close and personal with the bed? I figure, all that time you’ve spent making it, you should get to try it outfor once.”
He blushed. “I, uh, Miss Whedon-”
“Call me Lilah.”
“Lilah. Maybe another time?”
He fled, still blushing, and she frowned. “Am I coming on too hard? Is it even possible to come on too hard?” Thenshe shrugged. “I’ll wear him down eventually.” She yawned. “I should sleep anyway.”
While Lilah was busy seducing the man she planned on having father her fifth child, her sister was teaching hersecond child how to talk.
Robin was much more easygoing than his brothers, and had no problems repeating what she said.
In the middle of the night, Lilah was woken by sharp pains in her stomach. “Fucking…this baby had better comesoon!”
Tara rushed out of the bathroom and into her sister’s bedroom. “I’m sure it will,” she said, trying to soundreassuring. She wasn’t sure how to - her mother had always taken that role - but it was her job now.
“I hate giving birth. Hate hate HATE!”
Then Lilah twirled, giving birth to a little boy with green skin, black hair, and gray eyes. “Hello cutie,” she said, “Ithink we’ll call you Lindsey McDonald Whedon.”
Lindsey wasn’t the only infant on The Hellmouth, either.
When the family ended up at Wesley and Lorne’s, Lilah found herself holding her infant niece, Drusilla Aurelius Whedon.
“Don’t you get enough of babies at home?” Tara asked as she came into the nursery.
Lilah shrugged. “She was hungry.”
“…How can you even tell?”
“A mother’s intuition is a beautiful thing.”
“Yeah, but she’s not your kid!”
“So?”
Lilah was right: Drusilla was indeed hungry. She happily drank from the bottle that her aunt brought her.
Then she dropped her niece off with her brother, who’d just woken up from his nap.
“Thanks for taking care of her, Lilah.”
“Don’t thank me yet.”
“Oh?”
“I haven’t changed her diaper. That, Daddy, is your job.”
Wesley laughed. “Never change, Lilah. Never change.”
Wesley held up his daughter. “There you go, all changed.”
Drusilla gurgled at him.
“Tired? Well, then, sweetheart, let’s put you to bed.”
Life went on for the other denizens of the house.
Lorne and Andrew both tried their hand at stargazing, though neither was abducted by aliens.
Love occurred - whether with spouses or random girls.
Sometimes the boltage was not so appropriate.
“Wow,” Faith said, watching Lorne walk by, “he is hot.”
Lilah, meanwhile, was staring at Faith. She’d grown up very very well.
I kept a careful eye on all three of them - first cousins once removed was far, far too close for relationships.
---
Joss --> Cordy --> Xander --> Joyce --> Faith
Soon, however, it was time for Drusilla’s toddler birthday, and everyone gathered for the tossing.
She became a very pretty little girl who looked a lot like her father, though with her mother’s eyes and brow.
Lauren immediately took charge of her daughter, taking her to get a new hairdo and new clothing. “There we go.Men never know how to dress a little girl, do they?” She held Drusilla up. “Yes, you look very cute like this.”
Both of Drusilla’s parents were very happy to take care of their little girl, and she never lacked anything.
And, finally, Lorne finally managed to make a full sweep of the Tri-Fruhm sorority girls when he seduced MonicaBratford with tales of his alien explorations.
Unfortunately, during a party at Porter Hall (the cousins’ college house), there was an awkward moment whenRemington Harris saw Gunnar Roque flirt with Lilah.
“I thought you were just interested in me!”
Lilah laughed. “Uh, Remington, you do realize I have four kids with three different men, right?”
He looked down. “I - but…”
She patted him on the shoulder. “Look, maybe it’s best if we don’t do anything more together. You clearly wantmore than I’m willing to give.”
“Well, I…alright.”
She smiled at him, then pulled Gunnar off to go find the hot tub.
Lilah wasn’t too upset by the loss of Remington Harris as a prospective lover. Instead, she quickly picked DamonSkinner to father her fifth child.
I approved.
He certainly didn’t object either.
Unfortunately, Lilah being busy with woohoo meant that her sons got stuck in their cribs for a bit.
Luckily, their aunt came by soon after to let them out.
And then Riley came home from his first day of work all week, a Hall of Famer at last.
The adults grabbed a child apiece and headed outside (along with Connor) so that we could rebuild the house.
I stacked up everything that was worth keeping - the one bed the ghosts would care about, the career rewards, thediplomas, the bird, and a few odds and ends - and set to it.
It came out quite well, in my (quite biased) opinion.
The left picture is the second floor. On the left, in red, is Lilah’s bedroom (the biggest one in the house). Below it, inpurple, is Tara’s bedroom. To the right of that, in dark blue, is Robin and Richard’s bedroom - though still toddlers, they would obviously need a room once they were older. In the front right corner, in light blue, is Connor’s bedroom- which would have a bed added when Lindsey needed one. Behind that, in green, is Riley’s bedroom, which wouldeventually be changed into a room for the fifth child. Each bedroom has a private bathroom. And, finally, the centerarea has various skilling items.
The right picture is the first floor. On the left is the nursery, with space for up to three children. The other separateroom is the kitchen/dining room. The rest of the first floor is one big room, with the rest of the skilling items andmost of the career rewards, along with two small bathrooms. Outside the house are the car, the graves (behind thedriveway), the Military career reward, the telescope, the Gamer career reward, the Energizer, and the hot tub.
After that, it was time to take care of the kids. Tara fed Robinand Lindsey, while Riley gave Richard a bath.
And Lilah? Went to work. For the first time in…uh…
A week?
Meanwhile, Connor started working out on Riley’s new punching bag.
Riley had promised him that, if he lifted Athletic and Connor got his Body skill up to 10, there would be a specialtreat.
He succeeded in getting those points.
Then Riley went to take a short trip to the family cemetery. He rather wanted to see a ghost.
Unfortunately, yet again, it was not to be.
And, once more, his alien hunting was exactly as successful as his ghost hunting.
“Mom! Mom!” When Lilah came home from work, her oldest son was there to greet her.
“What is it, Connor?”
“Did you have a good night at work?”
“I did. The concert went well.”
“Awesome!”
Lilah hugged her son. “It was. Now, you get up to bed. It’s already eleven.”
Lilah herself went up to bed as well, but she woke up in the middle of the night utterly starving, so she headed for thekitchen.
Once she got there, though, she felt rather queasy.
“Yup,” she sighed, “pregnant again. At least this is the last one.”
Because Lilah had work and a pregnancy, and Riley had work and stargazing, Tara ended up teaching both Robin andRichard to walk.
And she was just in time, too, because it was soon time for the twins to become children.
Both of them grew up very well.
And then everyone gathered in the kitchen as Riley brought Lindsey to his cake.
Well, everyone except the twins, who were involved in a very important game of cops and robbers.
And Tara, who was working on a new novel.
And Lilah, who was being apologized to by Remington for the misunderstanding they’d had.
Okay, so everyone means Riley, Connor, and a random walkby, but it counts, right?
Anyway, most importantly, Lindsey grew up into a very cute little boy, who promptly got a makeover.
His overalls and new hairdo suited him well.
There was also a visitor that night: Lynne came out for the first time.
She didn’t haunt anyone, possibly partly because she couldn’t get into the house, but she seemed to enjoy driftingaround the lot.
And while she didn’t actually scare Riley, he was very glad to see her again.
Later that night, Lilah came downstairs for a late night snack (pregnancy really took it out of her) and popped intoher second trimester.
Lindsey’s birthday cake really hit the spot, though.
And then she started potty training Lindsey.
The fewer diapers she had to change, the better.
The next morning was a weekend, so Riley cooked a late breakfast of pancakes, then called his nephews down to eatwith him.
“Uncle Riley,” Robin said, “Connor said you promised him a surprise if he maxed his Body skill. Can me and Richardhave the surprise too?”
Riley shook his head. “Unfortunately, you need to have your Body skill maxed by today to get the surprise now. ButI’ll tell you what. After you two, Lindsey, and the baby your mom’s going to have all max your Body skill, I’ll give youa new surprise, for all of you.”
Richard looked up at him. “Thassa really long time,” he said, speaking through a full mouth.
Riley smiled. “Yeah, but it’ll be worth it.”
After breakfast, Riley helped Connor pack a suitcase. Then they kissed their family and headed out to the shuttle tothe airport for a family trip to Yellowstone.
The touring group consisted of the older set of cousins who still lived at home. Lorne and Riley were acting aschaperones for Johnny, Andrew, Connor, and Warren, for a group trip to Yellowstone. They’d invited the oldestcousins, but both Darla and Faith were too busy with school to come, and the youngest set didn’t have the Bodypoints necessary to go on vacation. They’d take another trip with the younger cousins once they were all old enough.
---
Joss --> Cordy --> Xander --> Dawn --> DarlaJoss --> Buffy --> Anya --> Charlie --> JohnnyJoss --> Buffy --> Anya --> Danny --> Warren
As a whole, the trip went well, despite the cold.
All of the cousins got to know each other, though the lack of nice points sometimes showed in how they reacted toeach other.
---
Out of my twelve sims in gen 5, a sum total of four have more than one nice point.
None of them were on this trip.
Riley quite enjoyed the axe throwing, and was ecstatic to hit a bulls eye.
Sleeping in tents was kind of fun, though a bit chilly.
Tours went to interesting and exciting places. (Though Riley had to admit that getting chased by bees was not one ofthe high points of the experience, he liked the tour itself too much to care.)
The locals taught them all to slap dance.
And they had an excellent time meeting Bigfoot.
By the time the weekend was over and they had to go home, they were all a bit sad to leave, but they decided it hadbeen worth it.
Riley was very excited that he would get to return with Lorne and the younger half of the generation in a few years’time, and hopefully finish seeing the sites.
Lorne was just excited that he would get to spend more time with the local girls.
Soon after their return home, Riley started a new job in the Journalism field - his new Lifetime Want.
The twins both maxed their Body skill, sharing the punching bag and the bookcase to do so.
Lilah finally popped into the final stage of her final pregnancy.
And Riley moved out of the house.
Everyone came down to see him off in the early hours of the morning.
He moved in with his brothers and Wesley’s family and immediately joined the nightly stargazing at the new set oftelescopes in front of the house.
Life there was mostly quiet.
Though there were occasional moments of loudness.
Drusilla learned to walk and immediately started toddling everywhere.
And then it was time for her to become a child.
Her Uncle Riley was very happy to help her get the Body points she needed in order to travel around the hood. Andthough it was late at night when she finally got them, it was worth it.
The next day was a party, and all of the kids had fun - dancing, singing, and even cheating at chess.
The adults enjoyed the party as well.
While Lilah spent most of her time caring for her kids, she also needed breaks.
SSX3 was always good for a laugh.
And, besides, more and more of her kids were getting self-sufficient with each passing day.
Or, at least, more self-sufficient.
The boys liked playing together, and could entertain each other well.
And skilling alone wasn’t an issue.
In fact, they were self-sufficient enough that Robin handled the meet-and-greet part of Korey Jitmakusol’s visit toascertain their suitability for Hemery Elementary School.
He also handled the tour.
Of course, he couldn’t cook, so Tara made lobster.
All three of the older boys got into the school. Lindsey, as a toddler, was too young to be eligible.
Later that night, Tara and Lilah taught the twins how to do their homework. They shared the duties between them,as they’d shared so many things.
After that was done, Lilah gave Lindsey a bath, glad that they’d put a tub in the nursery so she didn’t have to carryhim everywhere. She already had one kid she was carrying around all the time, two was a bit much!
Then she started teaching him how to walk, though she didn’t get very far.
She was interrupted by something much more important.
“Owwwwww,” she moaned. “At least this is the last one!”
“You can do it!” Tara said. She’d heard the screams and come rushing in from the kitchen. She quickly made sureLindsey was settled with his rabbit head, then hurried back to her sister. “You’ll be fine, just breathe.”
“I know what to do,” Lilah growled. “Just be quiet and I’ll finish.”
“Okay, okay. I can do that.”
Lilah spun and held her last child up. “Why hello there, cutie.” The baby gurgled at her. “I wasn’t expecting to havea girl, you know. You’ve got four big brothers. I bet they’ll be overprotective.”
Lilah brought her daughter down to face-level. “But we’ll show them girls are just as daring as boys, won’t we,Kate?” The baby gurgled. “Yes, Kate works. Kate Lockley Whedon.” Kate just smiled and patted her mother on thecheek.
---
Kate gets her black hair from her mother and her green eyes from her father. Skin 1 comes from both parents.
While Lilah cuddled her new baby daughter, Tara made sure that Lindsey wasn’t too traumatized by witnessing hissister’s birth.
While he wasn’t traumatized, he also wasn’t all that inclined to talk, but Tara was pretty sure that was just shyness.
The next morning, Tara went to work and the boys went to school, leaving Lilah home alone with a toddler and aninfant.
At least she wasn’t pregnant this time.
Of course, The Hellmouth was a fairly small place, so no one was ever alone for long.
“Rose, hi! What’re you here for?”
“Tax collection.” Lilah immediately handed me a box. “Thanks. Now that’s done, let’s get to the fun part. I want tosee the babies!” I grinned.
“You’re baby-obsessed, you know.”
“Well, yeah. Now let me see them.”
The babies, unfortunately, weren’t all that exciting. Lindsey was taking his nap, and Kate needed a change and abottle. I cooed over them a bit, then left.
This, unfortunately, meant that I missed the adorableness that was Lindsey waking up from his nap.
I also missed the not-quite-as-adorable-but-still-adorableness that was him screaming for someone to let him out ofhis crib.
Luckily, Lilah came soon after and finished teaching him how to walk.
And when Lilah went to take care of Kate, Tara was ready with snuggles.
While the adults were busy with the younger children, the three eldest spent some time studying.
“Huh, this is interesting.”
“What?” Richard and Connor asked in unison.
“Did you know there used to be musical instruments other than Mom’s guitar? Like, pianos and drums and stuff.”
“Interesting,” Richard said.
“Awesome,” Connor contradicted. “Musical instruments would be awesome.”
The next day Tara and Lilah invited the whole family over to meet all the kids and witness a couple of birthdays.
This led to some amusing situations, such as Andrew (who’d just started college) finding out that he had no idea whatto do with an infant who was both dirty and screaming her lungs off about it.
Luckily, Lilah was able to rescue her and get her changed.
Wesley, on the other hand, was much better at dealing with his nephew. Lindsey was a bit shy around thisnewcomer, but they managed to get along well enough.
Tara did spend part of the day at work, achieving her second Lifetime Want - to be Chief of Staff of SunnydaleGeneral.
She promptly decided she wanted to be a criminal again.
And then it was time for the birthdays.
Connor became a slightly odd-looking, but very fun, teenager.
Lindsey became an active child.
And then, last but not least, everyone gathered in the kitchen.
Lilah blew out the candles for her daughter, then tossed her.
After all the birthdays, it was time for makeovers. Connor was first, then Lindsey - though Lindsey did decide heliked the pajamas he’d grown up in, the ducky suit he’d gotten as his everyday had to go.
And Kate got a new hairdo and a new dress.
“Uncle Riley?”
“Yes?”
“Will you help me with my Body skill? I want to be able to go everywhere, not just school.”
“Of course I will, Lindsey. Let’s go over to the punching bag.”
“Thank you!”
Riley got Lindsey started on the skilling, but left when both of them got very dirty. Lindsey took a shower, thenheaded to the bookcase.
Lilah gave Kate a bottle, then brought her to the nursery.
Looking at her daughter, she realized Kate had gotten almost nothing from her - just the hair color and the eyebrows.Everything else came from her father.
Then it was time for a bit of potty training, then to bed in the newly redecorated pink crib.
Connor headed outside to the telescope, where he was unfortunately scared a number of times by the ghost of MissKitty Fantastico, who apparently didn’t want anyone outside that night.
Instead, he went to play on the computer a bit.
“Shouldn’t you be in bed, Lindsey?”
“I needed to finish getting my body skill. What’re you doing still up?”
“I’m a bit older than you, I can stay up later.”
“I guess.” Lindsey shut his book. “I’m gonna sleep now.”
“I’ll be up in a bit,” Connor said. “Let me know if I disturb you when I come in.”
Lindsey hadn’t quite fallen asleep by the time Connor came upstairs to their newly shared bedroom. Though therewas an empty bedroom, since Riley had moved out, it had been decided that it would be Kate’s once she was oldenough to need it, as it was the smallest bedroom and she was the only girl. As Robin and Richard already sharedone room, Connor and Lindsey ended up sharing the other.
Connor didn’t spend the whole night sleeping. His mother and aunt were both exhausted, so he willingly took themiddle of the night shift for taking care of his baby sister.
“Hungry!” Kate yelled as Connor picked her up from the crib.
“You want a bottle?”
“Baba!”
“Sounds like you do. Let’s go get you one, then get you potty trained and by the rabbit head. Your big brother needshis beauty sleep, you know.”
Kate snuggled into her brother. “Hug.”
“You want a hug before your bottle?”
She nodded.
“Then a hug you shall have!” As he snuggled her, she smiled.
And once she had her bottle, Kate sat by her rabbit head while Connor returned to bed.
The next day, Lindsey came home on the bus with his cousin Ben.
---
Joss --> Buffy --> Fred --> Harmony --> Ben
The boys had a good time getting to know each other - talking, playing, and even dancing.
Another cousin had also grown up, so Connor and Warren spent some time hanging out and catching up. They didn’tgo out, but that was okay. There was plenty of time to explore The Hellmouth later on.
Meanwhile, Lorne continued his quest for Romance.
He’d rolled up a want for 20 woohoos, and by golly, he was going to get that want.
In addition, the people who had been to Yellowstone managed to spread the slap dance around the hood.
Wesley and Lauren cheered over their daughter’s first A plus.
And Andrew managed to get inducted into the Secret Society.
Unfortunately, not everything was happy. Sarah Love and Monica Bratford were not happy when they realized thatLorne was dating both of them and Jessie Pilferson too.
Jessie, meanwhile, didn’t care at all.
Lilah’s reaction to Abel Washington cheating on her with Faith was much more blasé.
She just shrugged and enjoyed the view - of both of them.
Then she hopped into the hot tub, joining her siblings.
“So, Tara, what riveting tale are we telling Riley?”
“I was talking about how I finally hit the $50,000 mark the other day.”
“Congrats on reaching Chief of Staff, Tara,” Riley said. “And on making the money.”
“Thanks. Congrats on hitting Media Magnate yourself.”
“So,” Riley said, changing the subject, “how’s the rebuilding going?”
Lilah shrugged. “We can’t do much these days. Have to wait for the kids to grow up. At least we’ve got all the kidsnow!”
“Glad to be done with pregnancy?”
“You do not even know.”
“No, you’re right, I don’t,” Riley said. “And I’m glad not to.”
Tara laughed. “Same here.”
Lilah rolled her eyes. “It’s worth it for the kids, even if I’ve got to have five of them to lift restrictions.”
“Any idea who will lift what?”
“Nope. That’s for them to decide, not me. They know what’s left. They’ll figure it out.”
“I hope they do,” Riley said.
“Oh, I have faith in my kids. And if they don’t, we’re here to help them.”
“We are at that,” Tara said.

Honey, I’m home!
…Okay, that’s a joke, but I’m back, and glad of it! Round Robin was lovely, and I had an excellent time, but it’s niceto see my Whedons again, and to be making progress in my apoc. I’ve now got all the kids I need to lift the last setof restrictions, though we’ve got a while until they’re actually old enough to do so. But progress is good, and we’remaking it.
We’ve now lifted the last restriction of gen 4, which leaves only gen 5 to go.
Athletic was nice, for moving furniture (allowing me to rebuild the houses), selling big furniture, and shoving extrastuff in Inventories.
In case you’re curious, this is Wesley/Lorne/Riley’s new house.
