Derrick Rose• Rose was born in 1988 and grew up as a fan of

the Chicago Bulls. He often played basketball with his siblings, and his talent soon became clear to his family. While in high school, Derrick Rose led his school’s junior varsity team to the city championship during his first year and joined the varsity team during his third year. He scored 22 points during his first varsity game and, by his senior year, was ranked as the best point guard in high schools around the nation, averaging just over 25 points each game.

Conclusion• As he got closer to college, Derrick Rose was

approached by numerous coaches. With the help of his brothers, he decided to enroll at the University of Memphis and play for the Tigers under coach John Calipari. He quickly had an impact on the team and helped the Tigers win 38 games in just one year. Not long after that season, he made himself eligible for being drafted into the NBA at the age of 19. He was selected by his hometown team, the Bulls, and has since built a successful professional sports career.
