A Brief History and Overview of Kaduna Polytechnic

A Nigerian entrepreneur with a history of success in such industries as oil and gas, agribusiness, automotive sales, and aviation, Kashim Bukar Shettima prepared for his career through studies at Kaduna Capital School, Kufena College, and Kaduna Polytechnic. Educated at Kaduna Polytechnic from 1986 through 1988, Kashim Bukar Shettima took part in a longstanding tradition of collegiate excellence that dates back more than 50 years.

A Brief History and Overview of Kaduna Polytechnic

Established in 1961 with only 156 students in its inaugural year, Kaduna Polytechnic assumed its current name seven years later. Today, it serves more than 15,000 on- and off-campus students in 38 academic departments. With a mission to prepare its students for careers that can grow and sustain Nigeria’s developing economy, Kaduna Polytechnic offers coursework in business and management studies, industrial engineering, science and technology, administrative studies and social sciences, and environmental studies. The school awards graduates a wide range of degrees, including the naturopathic doctor, higher national diploma, postgraduate diploma, and bachelor of education.
