Highly structured, intense, and deeply flavored. The Racehorse. Merlot Major grape and the most widely planted one. Round and supple. The flesh on cabernet sauvignon's bones. Cabernet Franc A minor grape, but used in most blends. Contributes aromas. Malbec & Petit Verdot Minor grapes, used in very small amounts, if at all. 2013 Rothschild Blanc (Blend SB / Semillon) Straw yellow and pale color with green glints. On the nose, the wine is aromatic and flattering, dominated by aromas of tropical and citrus fruits, like grapefruit and lime. In mouth, it is a lively and fresh wine that is easy to drink. The Sauvignon brings flavors and vivacity while Semillon gives fullness and balance at the end. Its generous character makes it an excellent accompaniment for fish and white meats 2010 Les Parcelles -Haut Medoc 65% Merlot/35% Cab) A nice easy drinking Bordeaux, with good balance, and structure. A good value at this price. Drink with steak or pizza. Enjoyed this wine now. 2010 Chateau Villars Fronsac (83% Merlot / 14% Cab Franc / 3% Cab) This wine has a high toned nose of neutral wood, fresh ed/black bush berries, with hints of cranberry and back end black soil. Medium + mouth feel, good structure with plentiful fine tannins and underlying acidity. The wine has a solid finish that leaves your palate dry and puckering. Chateau La Tour de Bessan 2011 Margaux (62% Merlot / 38% Cab) A rich, intense and complex wine from Margaux. This wine has intense flavors of licorice, violets, wild strawberries, sour cherries and roasted notes. It has palate that is fleshy, full, with velvety tannins. 2010 Chateau de Chantegrive Graves (50% Merlot / 50% Cab) An equal blend of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, that exceeds all expectations. Notes of tobacco leaf, creme de cassis, barbecue smoke and loads of flesh, opulence and richness characterize this dense purple-colored wine, which is full-bodied and over-achieving. Drink it over the next decade. A major sleeper of the vintage. 2010 Chateau de Ferrand- St. Emillion (75% Merlot / 15% Cab Franc / 10% Cab) This Saint-Emilion Grand Cru wine has received good scores from various critics: the 2010 vintage was given a score of 90 by Robert Parker. Ranked in the top 10 for number of awards won among wines from this region: the Concours General Agricole Paris awarded the 2009 vintage Gold and the Concours de Bordeaux Vins d'Aquitaine awarded Or.
