Darjeeling has many distinctive quality seasons each of which give exquisite teas unique in their character and flavour all the while coming from same tea bushes which are carefully nurtured and protected lovingly by dedicated teams at the gardens. First Flush Teas i.e., the Spring Teas present a perfect combination of rich floral character and sharp refined flavour. Second Flush Teas i.e., the Summer Teas - Produce a dark infusion and an amber liquor with a lot of body. The unique full bodies yet smooth cup makes it an ideal tea.

Autumn Flush - They represent brown leaf doted with green ones reminiscent of the spring harvest. Gourmet notes of fresh walnut, chestnut and exotic stewed produces rich and round liquor. Assam’s best quality comes in the Second Flush season. Aficionados from across the world seek Assam tea for its unmatchable briskness thick, rich, creamy, sweet and malty cups. The blue mountains of the Nilgiris in South India produce quality tea having brisk Liquors with tantalizing fragrance and fine flavours.

The two types of manufacturing methods are Orthodox - the traditional technique where the leaves remain large, and the liquors are light in Darjeeling & Velvety Smooth in Assam.

In Darjeeling we manufactures Green tea - this is

basically Orthodox tea but without fermentation;

Black tea - which is fully fermented, and Oolong

tea - semi fermented.

Variety of flavours and taste is available in Jay Shree’s basket, from its own gardens at different altitudes. Thus, teas grown in the mountains have thin and light liquors with delicate aromas subtle in the strength; these are fine fragrant tea. At the other end of the span are the teas grown in the plains : these have strength and briskness - the strong teas.
