Blessings Israel A Biblical Perspective

“I will make you a great nation; I will bless you And make your name great; And you shall be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, And I will curse him who curses you; And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.” Genesis 12:1–3

Thank you for affirming that God’s promises to the people of Israel are true to this day.

God’s amazing plan for Israel is to be a blessing to all the other nations.

We believe the ultimate fulfillment of that blessing is the Messiah Jesus, who came into this world through a daughter of Israel in order to redeem people of all nations.

Of all the blessings God promised Israel, this is the most far-reaching. But how can Israel shine a light that she has yet to see?

God’s mission has not been hindered by the fact that the Jewish people, as a whole, have yet to receive the light of the Messiah. But those of us who have seen that light are shining it as best we can. We know that one day Israel will shine the Messiah’s light to all nations.

Sadly, many Christians do not seem to share this biblical hope. Some have lost their love for Israel while others are fervently pro-Israel, but in ways that are not always aligned with Scripture.

Here are four Bible-based ways for you to bless Israel 1. Stand by Israel in tangible ways.

Affirm Israel’s right to existPray for the many Israelis who face poverty, homelessness, and addictionSupport efforts to reach Israelis with the gospel, from the most secular who may not even believe in God, to the most religious, who live in closed communities that are extremely hard to reach

2. Recognize and reject unbiblical perspectives.Remember that you don’t have to be against Palestinians in order to be for Israel. Remember that Jesus is the only hope for lasting peace in the land of IsraelBe certain that the groups you support share your passion for the lostBe wary of groups that seek Christian support for Israel but expect people to check their desire to share Jesus at the door

3. Be aware of where your gifts are going. Some well-known groups such as “International Fellowship of Christians and Jews” (IFCJ) and Christians United For Israel (CUFI) tell participants in their programs that it’s inappropriate to share the gospel with Israelis they meet during the program.

We suggest you write to ask any organization that solicits funds for blessing Israel: ● Are participants on your projects permitted to talk about their faith in Jesus

to the Jewish people they meet through your program?● Are Jews who believe the teachings of the New Testament concerning

Jesus allowed to participate in your programs?● Do any organizations to whom you send funds include programs or people

who are committed to countering or preventing Christian missionary work?

4. Partner with Jews for Jesus. Our work in Israel includes sharing the gospel on the streets, in soup kitchens and rehab centers, as well as sponsoring events that draw many Israelis to our center.
