Corporate technology institute

The Corporate Technology Institute, leading HHI’s new R&D activities consists of 3 institutes:

Advanced Technology Institute, Industrial Technology Institute, Frontier Technology Institute.

The Advanced Technology Institute develops advanced design technology in common core areas,

develops new products, and conducts leading research projects.

The Industrial Technology Institute mission is to commercialize R&D, develop advanced key components of

state-of-the-art technology, establish global network, and train human resources.

The Frontier Technology Institute aims to examine and commercialize technology in new business areas,

develop new promising technology and business incubation (e.g. medical robot, medical

equipment) and maximize value and customer satisfaction through optimized design.

Corporate Technology Institute is performing future value creation

through creativity and leading lasting development of corporate.

advanced technology institute

The Advanced Technology Institute (ATI) was founded in 2012 to

upgrade the core technologies and systems commonly required

for HHI’s world-class products. Also the institute develops new

technologies which will be essential for long-term growth.

ATI’s typical advanced technologies are the one for comfort, safe-

ty, and eco-friendliness which are essential to upgrade the quality

of HHI’s products, and more importantly to satisfy our valuable

clients. ATI is also developing core technologies for offshore struc-

tures and power plants.

ATI’s typical concerned products are offshore oil and gas plants,

power plants, seawater desalination plants, engine emission pro-

tection system, etc.

The Maritime Research Institute (MRI) was founded in 1984 to

help HHI achieve its goals in the marine field. At present, MRI pos-

sesses first-class core technologies and helps upgrade the quality

of HHI’s world-class products.

The research fields of MRI include hydrodynamics, structural me-

chanics, and experiment for ships and offshore structures.

MRI possesses capital facilities and support equipment for hy-

drodynamic and structural research. MRI joined the International

Towing Tank Conference in 1986.

In addition to the practical R&D activities for the shipbuilding divi-

sion, MRI is developing new technologies and businesses to en-

sure the long-term growth of HHI.
