Our 8 Week Programs have been designed specifically for people who suffer from back pain or injury. They are also suitable for people with neck, hip, shoulder and lower limb injuries or overuse conditions. The exercises are fully personalized and graded to your age and ability - we have

Guaranteed results to get you back to your best

Our sessions are conducted with one physiotherapist per patient (1:1) or one physiotherapist per two patients (1:2), using professional Clinical Pilates equipment such as reformers, trapeze and mat/ball exercises. Most people will require between four and eight 1:1 sessions in order to gain enough independence with their program. The progression is to 1:2 sessions. How many you need, will depend on a range of factors: your injury history, your current level of ‘functional core strength’, your general fitness and your goals to name a few. The time frame for any strengthening program needs to be for at least six weeks to gain lasting benefit. We have found that eight weeks is a good starting point for most people. 8 weeks is certainly enough time for ‘functional core strength’ to improve. And once this improves, so will your quality of life.

The Sessions

Each participant must first undergo a Pilates Assessment with one of our Clinical Pilates trained physiotherapists, who will then recommend the best plan for you. Through a methodical physical assessment and knowledge of rehabilitation, your physiotherapist will pinpoint key areas of weakness around your spinal muscles, and target these ‘core’ muscles. Your physiotherapist will then devise a fully personalized program, which they will continue to supervise and progress throughout your program. Additionally, you will have a personalized home version of your exercise program so that you can maintain improvements between sessions. As the 8 weeks progress, you will feel yourself gaining control of your ‘core’ muscles, and begin to use them more and more with everyday physical activities - we call this ‘functional core strengthening’. These ‘core’ muscles protect your spine, and once strengthened, will allow you to get back to doing the things you enjoy without worrying about your back or your injury. Understanding this is key to participating in and gaining the highest possible benefit from our programs.

How It Works

The progression from the program is varied. After 8 weeks your physiotherapist will completely re-assess your physical status and recommend a further plan. This plan may involve additional 1:2 sessions (see our packages below), independent use of our equipment, or a home, pool or gym-based core strengthening program with semi-regular reviews. Some of you will be painfree and back to full fitness, whilst for others the program presents the start of a journey. For most, an ongoing management program with strengthening, physiotherapy and movement is key to keeping you at your best.
