About the college: Our Yashwantrao Chavan Law College was established in June 1978. The College has kept

before itself the goals of advancement and spreading of knowledge of law and legal process in the context of national development. In accordance with these basic expectations, the College is striving to achieve excellence in the field of legal education and research. In this endeavour, the College organises various visits, competitions, workshops, conferences and seminars on different contemporary and important issues of the society. This workshop is one of the attempts in this direction.

About the Workshop:

The workshop aims to create awareness about the role of intellectual property laws. In the modern globalized era, the significance of Intellectual Property (IP) systems cannot be undermined particularly in relevance of economic prosperity. The workshop intends to give an idea about the Indian scenario of the IP system and the office of the Controller General of Patents, Designs and Trademarks. Objectives:

1. To create awareness about the various kinds of intellectual property rights 2. To provide necessary understanding about the concepts and system of IP 3. To promote legal fraternity to experience and deliberate on various aspects of IP 4. To encourage students to pursue practice in IP 5. To persuade researchers to take on scholarship on the distinct aspects of IP
