Dec. 21st, the shortest dayand the last club meeting of2015 was a natter night.

Most of the evening was taken upwith progress reports by memberson the Construction Challenge andproblem solving. Howard, who isbuilding the ATU kit is modifyingit to suit his requirements. Edwinand John gave progress reports ontheir kit s within the challenge.

Other topics discussed during theevening included the new layout ofRADCOM, which met with mixed

reviews, personally , I am notimpressed.

OFCOM's revoking of non re-validated licences was talked about.SO REMEMBER! If your licenceis out of date or you have recentlymoved re-validate or you may loseit. Ofcom is just a phone call or anemail away.

Next years club programme wasdiscussed and ideas put into the pot. After an interesting evening all wenthome to prepare for Christmas.

Well, here we are, just overhalf way through theBraintree club's 40th

anniversary year. By the time youread this you will have developed amild hatred for Turkey andsprouts, understandable.

In the first half of the year we hadour 40th anniv' special event station,Summer camp, Railways O.T.A.and of course JOTA, a very busycalendar. Neville introduced hisconstruction kits as part of the 40thchallenge which kindled quite a bit

on interest. This has been followedby the construction challengeinvolving G-QRP TX/RX/ATUkits. This momentum should carryon into the future and to my mindbe taken into the local schools andyouth groups.

2015 brought its share of sadnesswith the sudden death of EddieM6RHA. we shall miss his gruffvoice and his keen support of theclub and his enthusiasm for the"club net"

In 2016 we must try to get newblood into the club so any ideas thatyou have should be put forward. Asyou all are aware, I live far away
