The cow numbers are still dropping because of the grain boom, in some cases drought, and feed shortages. The ones that stick it out will see unprecedented highs in the future. Now is the time to buy the best Simmental genetics available, building a herd with strong maternal traits, performance, and carcass value that the cattle industry is looking for.We are really excited about our bull sale this year. Our bull pen is so uniform in color, type, and super thick bulls, with beautiful thick hair coats. If they had no ear tags, even I would be lost. After years of searching out and buying the best Simmental genetics available, it is gratifying to see our herd progress to the point that we can produce a pen of bulls and heifers this even, that we can make available to our customers. Our herd bulls have always been our key component. We have never spared any expense to buy the very best herd bulls available; they are the engineers of our success. Our criteria has always been cattle that are easy

fleshing, quiet, good udder quality and structurally sound. We will not tolerate anything less.Our heifers this year are the strongest set to date, out of our powerful herd bull battery, and out of cows that have daugh-ters in the herd, and herd bulls working in herds across the country. Video Auction Sale: The sale will be held in a live video format, where each animal will be moving on a large screen while being sold. The cattle will be penned in small groups just outside the sale barn.

Animal Health: Kopp Farms maintains a total herd health program. All sale animals have been vaccinated with the Pfizer Gold Program. This included Bovishield Gold 5, One Shot, and Ultrabac7/Somubac. All bulls and heifers were vaccinated for foot rot using Fusoguard, as well as treated twice with Ivomec prior to the sale. All bulls will be examined, scrotal measured, semen tested and palpated by a licensed veterinarian prior to the sale.

Delivery: Option A: Bulls will be delivered free of charge within 500 km. Delivery will be as soon as possible after the sale at the convenience of Kopp Farms and at the buyer’s risk.

Option B: Bulls can be kept at Kopp Farms at no charge until April 1. A charge of $2.00 per day will apply after that date. Buyer must fully insure their bull(s) while being cared for at Kopp Farms. The bull(s) must be picked up by the purchaser.

Option C: Bulls can be picked up sale day and a $50.00 discount will be deducted from the purchase price. If bulls are picked up before March 10 a $50.00 discount will apply. Bulls must be paid in full before leaving the farm. Buyers must fully insure their bull(s) while being cared for at Kopp Farms.

Kopp Farms Bull Warranty:Kopp Farms guarantees to sell you a bull that will be examined by a licensed vet-erinarian, scrotal measured and semen tested. Should a Kopp Farms bull fail to physically penetrate a cow or heifer, a credit will be given towards the purchase of another bull. Should you have a problem we have spare bulls available. We guarantee to provide you with a sound breeding bull, but will not provide replacement or credit for physical injury or mismanagement. With this in mind, we strongly advise you to insure your bull(s). Should you have a problem with your bull(s) you will have 60 days from the time of possession to report the problem to Kopp Farms in writing. The buyer shall return the bull to Kopp Farms immediately when the problem is detected at the buyer’s expense. Kopp Farms will have the bull examined by a veterinarian and will have 60 days to prove the bull will or will not breed a cow. If the bull cannot, or will not, physically breed, the buyer will be entitled to a credit for the complete purchase price of the bull in question. Should the bull prove to be a breeder, he will be returned to the buyer at Kopp Farms expense and the matter shall be considered closed. Sales Management CommentsIt seems like throughout our winter travels and most recently during our annual stop at the Canadian Bull Congress in Camrose, AB, when asked about where to find that good Fullblood, Red or Black Simmental bull, force of habit combined with knowledge of the program, Kopp Farms is always a credible referral to give and seems to voluntarily roll off my tongue. This herd is, and has been for sometime, incredibly, incredibly, impressive whether you see them in winter, spring, summer or fall. I have often said that the Kopp’s have been able to “patent” a “look” to their cattle. You just seem to find a little more “top & hip” in their cattle than general industry standards. This doesn’t surprise us because of our familiarity to the Kopp program, watching them buy cattle and us having purchased many cattle on their behalf, we understand the standards these people demand in their product. This has been an advantage in our partnership with Kopp Farms to be able to promote them in such a manner and be a centralized medium for them to the public. We are proud to know the beef community sees us as the “official” marketing personnel and a public “tie” to Kopp Farms. If building a productive cowherd is your priority then 38Z would be a good investment.

IPU RED TOUCHDOWN 32STouchdown is a Teddy son we bought at the LaBatte Simmental Bull Sale in 2007. This thick, deep bodied bull is the easiest calving herd bull we have owned. The gestation on his calves is consistently around 180 days. The growth rate on these Touchdown calves is quite exceptional. They are so tiny at birth, yet some of our heavi-est at weaning and they will be one of the thickest sire groups. His daughters are the thickest, easiest fleshing, pear shaped females you could imagine and will be some of the top cows in our herd. We don’t get many bulls drawn, but we do have a semen bank on Touchdown, and you will see his genetic influences in our herd long after he is gone.

TWIN-CHIEF WALKER 21WHomo-PolledWe didn’t have a decent picture of Walker, so we just went to the bull pasture and took a picture of him in his working clothes. Our herd bulls don’t get water, they lick snow and eat haylage.

Walker has left no doubt with his first calf crop that he is a super star. He is a bull we bought out of the D Bar C herd dispersal sale. He was raised by Twin Chief Simmentals where he was the high selling yearling in their bull sale in 2010. These two were always an impressive pair of calves. They were both raised by an Impact daughter we bought from Crossroad Farms, Shell Lake, SK. The right of property shall not pass until after settlement is made. Transcon Livestock Corp. reserves the right to require a certified cheque as settlement before releasing any sale cattle. Should any purchaser fail to settle for his purchase Transcon Livestock Corp. reserves full power to resell the animal to the best advantage either publicly or privately, without further notice. Any loss arising from such resale together with keep and all other expenses shall be payable by the defaulter. All settlements must be made with the clerks of the sale before any cattle will be released.BID - Every animal consigned to the sale must be sold by auction. No private sales will be allowed except as otherwise provided for in the terms and conditions. No by-bidding will be permitted. Each animal will be sold to the highest bidder.DISPUTES - In cases of disputes, bidding will be reopened between the parties involved.
